About The Role
We are looking for a qualified and hands-on
Senior Finance & Accounts Manager to lead our finance function across multiple business operations in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior individual-contributor-plus-leadership role — you'll own the full finance and accounts function end-to-end, from daily accounting and compliance to audit coordination, payroll, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Oversee daily accounting operations, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Manage supplier accounts, contractor settlements, and sub-ledger reconciliations
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across business units
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely compliance with all Ugandan tax and statutory obligations
- Handle tax notices, objections, assessments, and reconciliations
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively advise senior management
Audit & Regulatory Coordination
- Lead statutory audit coordination and support external auditors
- Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely closure of audit findings
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with regulatory requirements
Payroll & HR Finance
- Supervise end-to-end payroll processing, including expatriate payroll
- Monitor staff advances, loans, and employee-related financial records
- Train, mentor, and manage the on-ground finance team
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Strengthen internal control frameworks and financial procedures
- Identify operational and financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Drive process improvements across the finance function
What We're Looking For
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional Certification: CA / ACCA / CPA — mandatory
Experience: 3–6 years post-qualification experience in accounting, taxation, compliance, and financial reporting
Industry Preference: Construction, infrastructure, real estate, or manufacturing (preferred, not mandatory)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Tally Prime or equivalent ERP system
- Strong MS Excel and financial modelling/reporting skills
- Familiarity with Ugandan or East African tax regulations is a significant advantage
