Job Title: Senior Executive – Student Wellness (Counselling Psychology)

Reporting To: Director – Campus Life

Location: Doddaballapur, Bengaluru

Role Overview

The Senior Executive – Student Wellness (Counselling Psychology) will support the emotional well-being and developmental needs of young adults in a university setting.

The role focuses on preventive counselling, psychoeducation, emotional support, and student engagement, especially around issues such as adjustment to university life, academic stress, relationships, identity development, peer dynamics, and emotional regulation.

A key responsibility of the role is to ensure high visibility, accessibility, and active awareness of counselling and wellness services across campus through structured outreach and engagement programs.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, student-facing, empathetic, and highly proactive in engaging with young adults across departments and student communities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Counselling (Developmental & Non-Clinical Support)

  • Provide counselling support to students on academic stress, relationships, adjustment issues, peer conflict, and emotional well-being.
  • Support students in building coping strategies, resilience, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Identify students at risk (including distress or self-harm indicators) and ensure timely referral to appropriate professional or external support systems.
  • Maintain ethical, confidential documentation of sessions and interactions.

2. Wellness Outreach & Awareness (Core Responsibility)

  • Drive campus-wide awareness of counselling and wellness services.
  • Actively engage with students to reduce stigma around seeking psychological support.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on mental health, relationships, stress management, and emotional well-being.
  • Ensure high visibility of wellness services through constant campus presence and student interaction.

3. Student Engagement & Peer Mobilisation

  • Mobilize student volunteers and peer wellness ambassadors.
  • Build peer-led support systems and student awareness networks.
  • Collaborate with student clubs, faculty, and departments to integrate wellness conversations into campus life.
  • Act as a proactive, approachable point of contact for students across campus.

4. Wellness Programs & Annual Calendar Ownership

  • Design and execute an annual wellness engagement calendar.
  • Plan structured programs on emotional well-being, relationships, academic balance, and personal development.
  • Ensure continuous engagement through regular workshops, group sessions, and outreach activities.

5. Training & External Resource Facilitation

  • Conduct psychoeducational workshops for students on emotional health, coping skills, and relationship management.
  • Coordinate with external psychologists, trainers, and mental health professionals for specialized sessions.
  • Facilitate guest sessions, talks, and awareness programs through external experts.

6. Cross-Campus Coordination

  • Work closely with academic departments, student life teams, and administrative units.
  • Ensure consistent wellness messaging and accessibility across campus touchpoints.
  • Maintain active communication channels with faculty, staff and student coordinators.

7. Program Development & Evaluation

  • Support design and improvement of wellness initiatives (SIP sessions, wellness booths, outreach drives).
  • Collect student feedback to improve engagement and accessibility of services.
  • Contribute to impact reports and wellness program evaluations.

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree/Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology, Psychology, or Applied Psychology.
  • 5 years of experience working with young adults in educational or developmental settings.
  • Strong understanding of youth emotional health, relationships, and adjustment challenges.
  • Telugu or Kannada speaking skills is an added advantage

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in counselling young adults in university or higher education settings.
  • Exposure to workshops on relationships, stress management, or emotional well-being.
  • Experience in student outreach, awareness campaigns, or campus engagement programs.
  • Familiarity with external expert coordination (psychologists, trainers, speakers).

Important Note

  • This role is non-clinical and developmental in nature, focused on counselling psychology in a university setting.
  • It is not a psychiatric or clinical therapy role, but a proactive student engagement and emotional well-being support function.
