External Job Description
Job Purpose
Ensure smooth functioning of machines and other equipment's in all user departments through preventive, predictive maintenance, taking quick and Corrective action in case of breakdowns, allotting work to technicians and ensure proper adherence to Asset care Program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Key Performance Indicators
- Planning & coordination with Managers for smooth & continuous operation of Plant along with complete adherence to the maintenance(both preventive & predictive)activities in Chemical Process plant.
- Coordination with Manager for carrying out daily maintenance activities(preventive & predictive)
- Coordination with contract persons for daily issuing of material for maintenance
- Planning & Supervision of equipment overhauling in coordination with company/ contract fitters
- Supervision and coordination with electrical, instrument and other department to carry out maintenance jobs
- Responsible for maintenance of process plant equipment
- Ensuring complete safety requirement for carrying out any maintenance activities
- Maintaining and ensuring the availability of critical spares inventory
- Spares assessment & issuing from stores.
- Ensuring the engineering activities by following the applicable engineering standards.
- Upkeeping of maintenance record
- Breakdown analysis by following RCA methodology & implementation of CAPA.
- Planning, scheduling, organizing resources & execution of capital projects
- Planning of shift schedule for all operators & contract persons in mechanical department
- Uptime of equipment
- Schedule and planned compliance of preventive and predictive maintenance

Role Requirements
Qualifications Essential
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical
Previous Experience: Essential
- Should have atleast 3-4 years of Industrial experience of Maintenance in continuous process chemical/petrochemical industries.
- Exposure in maintenance of High/low speed rotary equipment,utilities
Previous Experience Desired
- Experience in operation and maintenance centrifuges, heat exchangers, cooling towers, utilities and distillation columns.
- Exposure in operation, maintenance of boiler/ Captive power plant
Functional Competencies
- Thorough knowledge in basic engineering and machinery/equipment maintenance
- Basic understanding of electrical & instrumentation.
- Thorough understanding and independent execution of preventive & predictive maintenance systems being followed in chemical plant & ensuring its implementation.
- Thorough understanding of safety requirements with interlocks of equipment
- Basic knowledge of SAP MM Module for ordering material (spares & consumables), understanding spares availability & availing the services from external agencies.
- Basic knowledge of pipe, fittings, structural steel material, its properties & pipeline fabrication.
- Knowledge about the trouble shooting tools to avoid reoccurrence.
