Job Description

Role purpose:

The L1 Linux Administrator is responsible for providing first-level support for Linux-based systems. This includes monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and escalating issues to L2/L3 teams.

The role ensures system uptime and supports routine operational tasks in a 24x7 environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing Server related Incidents/Service Requests and Change Requests within the defined SLA.
  • Perform Linux OS patching as per scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Handleuser managementtasks including account creation, permission assignments, and password resets.
  • Knowledge in Linux administration and Troubleshooting, Knowledge about Ansible and containerization technology.
  • FixingLinux Hardware and OS issues/problems.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Understanding of Linux operating systems (RedHat, Oracle, Ubuntu).
  • Familiarity with command-line tools and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of system monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge about Ansible and containerization technology
  • Ability to work in 24/7 shifts

Must have technical/professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Linux+ or RHCSA certification preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in Linux system support.
