A Quality Control (QC) Instrumentation Executive in a pharmaceutical company is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and calibration of analytical instruments used in quality testing. Key responsibilities typically include:
- Instrument Maintenance & Calibration: Ensuring all laboratory instruments, such as HPLC, GC, UV spectrophotometers, and others, are properly calibrated, maintained, and verified to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with instrumentation, ensuring minimal downtime and accurate results.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensuring adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), and other regulatory guidelines. Maintaining detailed records of calibration, maintenance, and validation activities.
- Method Development & Validation: Supporting the development and validation of new testing methods and ensuring instruments are suitable for the required analytical procedures.
- Training & Support: Providing training to QC staff on the operation and troubleshooting of instruments. Offering technical support and guidance on instrumentation-related queries.
- Data Integrity: Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data generated from QC instruments, ensuring it aligns with regulatory expectations.
