Job Description

  • Conduct daily plant safety rounds to identify unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Report findings to concerned department heads and ensure timely corrective actions with proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all activities and workstations.
  • Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Investigate all accidents, near misses, environmental spills, and fire incidents at the earliest stage.
  • Report incidents to relevant stakeholders and recommend Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Inspect and maintain fire safety systems including extinguishers, hydrants, and smoke detectors.
  • Coordinate with AMC vendors for timely servicing and ensure environmental monitoring compliance.
  • Conduct weekly safety training sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Deliver daily safety induction training for all new joiners.
  • Organize site-specific safety training and resolve safety issues raised during audits.
  • Organize and lead monthly Safety Committee meetings.
  • Ensure availability and quality of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with competent authorities for testing of pressure vessels and lifting tools/tackles.
  • Prepare weekly EHS performance reports and monthly Safety MIS.
  • Maintain documentation for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 audits.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory forms (Form IV, V, 10, etc.) and maintain records for E-waste, batteries, hazardous waste, etc.
  • Conduct weekly operational safety audits including:
  • Mobile/Hydra/Jib/EOT cranes
  • Welding machines, grinders, drilling machines
  • Gas cylinder storage, exit doors, gangways
  • Electrical panels, DG sets, air compressors
  • Loading/unloading areas, zinc kettles, process tanks
  • ETP, STP, and 5S audits
  • Perform daily safety walks and Gemba walks.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans.
  • Conduct periodic mock drills and implement corrective actions based on observations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including Factory Inspector, MPCB, PESO, MIDC, etc.
  • Support internal and external EHS audits and customer visits.
  • Organize annual and half-yearly medical examinations for employees and maintain Form-7 records.
  • Actively participate in and coordinate awareness events such as:
  • National Safety Week
  • World Environment Day
  • Fire Service Week
  • Road Safety Week
