Job Description
About amber
amberstudent.com is a global student accommodation platform helping students find and book long-term accommodation across markets worldwide. We are a fast-moving, high-ownership team where people are encouraged to take initiative, move quickly and build solutions that create real impact.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Employee Experience & Engagement professional who can help build a workplace where people feel connected, included and excited to be part of amber.
This is an execution-heavy role. You will own employee engagement initiatives end-to-end — from understanding what employees need and coming up with ideas to getting stakeholder buy-in, coordinating execution, communicating the initiative, measuring participation and feedback, and improving what we do next.
The role will also contribute to Rewards & Recognition, culture initiatives, internal communication, employee events and employer branding. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas rather than simply run a calendar of routine activities.
What You'll Do
- Own the employee engagement calendar and drive initiatives from ideation through execution and post-event feedback.
- Design creative, inclusive and relevant experiences for employees across different functions, levels, locations and working styles.
- Plan and execute initiatives across the Pune office as well as remote employee groups and build a consistent sense of connection across the organisation.
- Drive Rewards & Recognition initiatives and continuously look for ways to make recognition more meaningful and employee-led.
- Plan and coordinate town halls, employee events, culture initiatives and team-building experiences.
- Build engaging internal communication around people initiatives, culture, employee stories and organisational updates.
- Partner with employees and managers to understand engagement gaps, gather feedback and turn insights into practical initiatives.
- Support employer-branding initiatives by identifying authentic employee stories and creating opportunities for employees to participate in culture content.
- Work with vendors, creative partners and internal stakeholders to execute initiatives within timelines and budgets.
- Track participation, feedback and other relevant engagement metrics and use the insights to improve future initiatives.
- Use technology and AI tools where relevant to make engagement, communication and execution faster and more effective.
- Take ownership of outcomes — identify what needs to be done, create structure, get people aligned and make it happen.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in Employee Engagement, Employee Experience, People & Culture, HR engagement or a closely related role.
- Strong hands-on experience conceptualising and executing employee engagement initiatives, not just coordinating an existing calendar.
- Creative thinking and the ability to design experiences beyond routine Friday games, festivals, birthdays and food-based activities.
- Experience with Rewards & Recognition, culture initiatives, employee events and/or town halls.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with confidence in hosting or addressing employees and working with leadership.
- Exposure to internal communications and employer branding is preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Comfortable using employee feedback and participation data to evaluate and improve initiatives.
- Proactive, energetic and execution-oriented approach.
- HR, Psychology, Business, Communications or a related educational background is preferred.
What Success Looks Like
- Employees actively participate in and look forward to engagement initiatives.
- Engagement initiatives become more relevant and inclusive across employee groups.
- Employees feel more connected to their teams, colleagues and amber's culture.
- Recognition and internal communication become more consistent, meaningful and engaging.
- Engagement decisions are informed by employee feedback and measurable outcomes.
- A stronger pool of authentic employee stories and participation is created for employer branding.
The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here
You are someone who doesn't wait for a playbook. You notice when something isn't working, speak to people, come up with an idea, get the right stakeholders involved and make it happen.
You enjoy experimenting, learning from feedback and improving the experience rather than simply ticking activities off a calendar.
Location & Working Model
- Location: Pune
- Work Model: Work From Office
- The role requires regular interaction with employees, teams and leadership and a strong in-person presence.
Why amber
