Job Description

The Distribution Risk function (L1B) is responsible for ensuring that the company's distribution channels adhere to competency standards and operate ethically and compliantly. This role focuses on driving the execution of the function's governance capabilities through reviews, leveraging data analytics and managing change initiatives to ens ure the proper execution of comprehensive evaluations and sound decisions on appeals concerning the Replacement of Policy (ROP). The role involves partnering closely with distribution partners and compliance to support continued safe and sustainable growth. Additionally, the role plays a crucial part in process management and improvement, preparing management reports, and trend analysis.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Replacement Of Policy Assessment & Decision Governance

  • Conduct independent and well-documented assessments of Replacement of Policy (ROP) appeals, ensuring decisions are fair, consistent, and aligned with MAS requirements.

  • Maintain clear audit trails to support defensibility and regulatory review.

2. Governance Framework & Controls

  • Upkeep the ROP governance framework, including policies and SOPs with regulatory changes, audit findings and business needs.

  • Ensure consistent application of standards across distribution channels and implement effective controls such as quality assurance and escalation protocols.

3. Process Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure ROP processes are efficient, well-controlled, and completed within defined timelines.

  • Regularly review and enhance processes to improve effectiveness and keep them aligned with regulatory changes and business needs.

4. Risk Mitigation & Advisory Support

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to improper policy replacement, including unsuitable switching.

  • Provide clear guidance to FA representatives and agency leaders to support compliant, customer-focused advisory practices.

5. Others

  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks, projects or reviews as directed by Lead, Distribution Line 1B, Training & Competency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the similar scope in the financial services industry

  • Minimum a Diploma holder

  • Is an advantage to have attained CMFAS Module 5, 9, 9A, 8, 8A and Health Insurance

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and good with data management and analysis

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skill

  • High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
