About the Role
Short Term Contract / Freelance
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Environment Artist to help build immersive environments for a mobile shooter game optimized for low-end devices.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in creating stylized/realistic modular environments, optimizing scenes for mobile performance, and assembling levels directly inside Unity using prebaked lighting workflows.
Role Responsibilities
- Create high-quality modular environment assets for shooter-style gameplay
- Build and populate game environments directly in Unity
- Optimize environments for low-end Android/iOS devices
- Create efficient modular kits for rapid level building
- Set up scenes using prebaked/baked lighting workflows
- Ensure environments maintain strong visual quality while staying performance-friendly
- Collaborate closely with design and art teams to establish environment look and feel
Requirements
- Strong portfolio showcasing environment art for shooter or action games
- Experience creating modular environment kits
- Strong understanding of optimization for mobile devices
- Experience working directly inside Unity
- Knowledge of light baking workflows and scene optimization
- Ability to create clean, reusable, game-ready assets
- Understanding of composition, scale, and gameplay readability
Preferred Skills
- Experience with mobile FPS/TPS environments
- Knowledge of occlusion culling, LODs, and batching workflows
- Experience with stylized or semi-realistic art styles
- Ability to balance visual quality with strict performance budgets
- Understanding of scene dressing and environmental storytelling
Technical Expectations
- Low poly to mid poly optimized assets
- Efficient texture usage and atlas workflows
- Prebaked lighting setup for performant mobile rendering
- Clean Unity scene hierarchy and prefab organization
