Job Description

  • Lead and manage multiple engineering teams (including engineering managers and senior engineers) to deliver scalable, high-impact SaaS products from a new India engineering hub in Bengaluru (Bellandur).
  • Own and drive end-to-end engineering strategy, technical roadmap, and architecture evolution across distributed, cloud-native systems with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Act as a hands-on technical leader driving system design, architecture reviews, and resolving complex engineering challenges in backend and platform systems.
  • Build and scale high-performing teams through hiring, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, and fostering a strong engineering culture.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to define priorities, manage delivery through OKRs/KPIs, and ensure timely execution of key initiatives.
  • Drive engineering excellence by improving development practices, CI/CD, observability, system reliability, and operational efficiency, while managing budgets, cloud costs, and delivery predictability.
  • Experience working with Python-based backend systems and cloud-native architectures is strongly preferred.

The Successful Applicant

  • 12-16 years of software engineering experience with 3-5 years in people management, ideally in fast-paced SaaS/product environments, with strong balance of strategy and execution.
  • Strong experience designing and scaling distributed, cloud-native backend systems with expertise in microservices, system architecture, reliability, and secure, scalable platforms.
  • Hands-on technical leader capable of driving architecture and system design decisions while guiding teams through complex engineering challenges.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional delivery through roadmap ownership, OKRs/KPIs, and strong collaboration with Product and Design for predictable execution.
  • Strong people leadership with a growth mindset, strong analytical and decision-making skills, and a passion for mentoring and building high-performing engineering teams.
