Senior Engineering Manager – Project Management

Location Bengaluru

 About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager – Project Management to lead the delivery of large-scale Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) engagements for a strategic global client. This leadership role is responsible for driving end-to-end delivery excellence, managing offshore operations, leading engineering teams of over 100 professionals, and building long-term client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have 16+ years of experience in technology delivery, with a strong background in Microsoft technology-based application development and support, combined with exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery governance capabilities.

This role requires a strategic leader who can drive engineering excellence, foster AI adoption, build high-performing teams, and contribute to account growth while ensuring consistent delivery quality.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) programs using Microsoft technologies.
  • Manage and mentor offshore delivery teams of 100+ engineers, technical leads, architects, and project managers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, ensuring high customer satisfaction and trusted advisor status.
  • Drive delivery governance through effective planning, execution, risk management, quality assurance, and reporting.
  • Champion engineering excellence by implementing modern software engineering practices, automation, DevOps, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead AI adoption initiatives across engineering teams and promote a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
  • Establish Agile delivery frameworks and ensure adherence to Agile best practices across programs.
  • Provide technical and engineering leadership by driving architecture discussions, innovation, productivity improvements, and technology modernization.
  • Develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability, resource planning, and delivery metrics across both Time & Material and Fixed Price engagements.
  • Identify business growth opportunities within existing accounts, contribute to solution proposals, and support account expansion initiatives.
  • Prepare and present executive-level dashboards, delivery reviews, and strategic updates to senior client leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and continuous customer success.

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 18+ years of experience in IT services, application development, and delivery management.
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale ADM engagements within the Microsoft technology ecosystem.
  • Proven experience leading global delivery teams comprising 100+ professionals.
  • Strong expertise in Agile delivery methodologies, project governance, delivery excellence, and program management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing senior client stakeholders and executive-level communications.
  • Experience managing both Fixed Price and Time & Material engagement models.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and resource planning.
  • Experience driving engineering best practices, innovation, automation, and AI adoption initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong presentation, storytelling, negotiation, and communication skills.

 Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled software engineering practices and delivery transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in proposal development, solutioning, and account growth strategies.
  • Prior experience in the EdTech domain is an added advantage but not mandatory.
