Job Summary: To provide senior technical ownership and hands-on engineering leadership for ISB's Moodle and React-based Learning Management/Learning Experience Platform (LMS/LXP), ensuring architectural integrity, platform stability, and delivery quality — by translating requirements from product and leadership teams into actionable technical designs, guiding developers on execution and best practices, resolving critical production issues, and coordinating technical delivery across product, development, infrastructure, and vendor teams.

Job Outline: Holds end-to-end technical ownership of ISB's Moodle and React-based LMS/LXP ecosystem, spanning architecture, customisation, integrations, APIs, performance, and security. Works closely with product and leadership teams to convert business requirements into technical designs and actionable development tasks, and provides day-to-day technical guidance to Moodle and frontend (React) developers on solution approach, code quality, scalability, and best practices. Leads troubleshooting and firefighting for critical production and integration issues, and reviews technical designs, code, deployments, and release readiness ahead of go-live.

Coordinates across product, development, infrastructure, and vendor teams to ensure timely technical delivery, and owns technical documentation, dependencies, and risk logs — including a structured handover to the eventual full-time replacement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and guide the technical architecture of the Moodle and React-based LMS/LXP platform, including customisation, integrations, APIs, performance, and security.
• Translate requirements from product and leadership teams into technical designs and actionable development tasks.
• Guide Moodle and frontend developers on solution approach, code quality, scalability, and best practices.
• Lead troubleshooting and firefighting for critical production and integration issues.
• Review technical designs, code, deployments, and release readiness.
• Coordinate across product, development, infrastructure, and vendor teams to ensure timely technical delivery.
• Own technical documentation, dependencies, and risks; ensure structured handover to the eventual full-time replacement.

Skills Required:

• Strong technical experience in Moodle and React-based applications, including architecture, customisation, integrations, APIs, performance, and security.
• Ability to understand requirements from product and leadership teams and translate them into technical designs and actionable development tasks.
• Capable of guiding Moodle and frontend developers on solution approach, code quality, scalability, and best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and firefighting skills for critical production and integration issues.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, code, deployments, and release readiness.
• Ability to coordinate across product, development, infrastructure, and vendor teams and ensure timely technical delivery.
• Comfortable taking ownership of technical documentation, dependencies, risks, and handover to the eventual full-time replacement.

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 12 years of prior experience supporting, administering, or developing on Moodle (or a comparable LMS) within a higher-education or large-enterprise setting.
• Experience working directly with product owners/business stakeholders in a lean or matrixed technical team.
