About the role:
This role is responsible for leading our India-based Cloud Platform Services team at HashiCorp. From Core Platform & Visibility to Identity/IAM and cloud-based Billing services, Cloud Platform Services (CPS) is responsible for delivering the PAAS backbone of the HashiCorp Cloud Platform (HCP).

What you'll do (responsibilities):
In this role, you will lead the creation, delivery and support of modern, secure and reliable Cloud Platform Services.
Responsibilities include:
- Working fully-aligned with our global CPS teams, engineer, deliver and operationalize key Cloud Platform Service / PAAS capabilities.
- Partner with leaders in Engineering, Product and Design to enforce best practices for measurable quality and value within the platform
- Hire and grow a diverse engineering team in a fast-scaling organization
- Develop next-generation distributed systems for the HashiCorp Cloud Platform
- Work with HashiCorp products such as Terraform, Consul, Vault, and Nomad
- Own the full lifecycle of feature development from design through testing and release
- Program primarily in Golang (Golang experience not required), learning from and contributing to a team committed to continually improving their skills
- Cultivate excellence in the reliability, scalability, security, and craft of the software your team builds
- Develop modern operationalization via policies for monitoring and ongoing management (patching, upgrades, audit requests, etc)
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Cloud Platform Services and broader EPD organizations
- Present insights and recommendations to drive data-driven decision-making
- Contribute to company-wide initiatives led by our EPD management, recruitment, and people teams
What you'll need (basic qualifications)
- 4+ years People Management experience leading engineering teams, with an emphasis on developing key talent and cultivating positive, high-performing cultures. A people-focused leadership style, with a track record of motivating and inspiring individuals and teams.
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering with experience with large-scale cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP), including CICD-driven software development, testing and release management.
- 4+ years of experience developing and supporting platform and Product/application services as part of a PAAS offering
- Understanding and familiarity with HashiCorp's products, specifically Terraform, Nomad, Vault and Consul.
- Strong functional knowledge of containers, container management, and container orchestration.
- Strong understanding of automation, automation principles, and different aspects of pipelines and automation delivery.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud security fundamentals, including patch management and secure configurations, with preferred experience in regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices, including CICD (continuous integration and deployment/delivery) techniques and technologies
- Strong cross functional collaboration and influencing skills, including the ability to influence with & without formal authority.

- 4+ years of professional software development experience and are proficient in at least one frontend programming language (TypeScript, JavaScript/ES7)
- 4+ years experience in modern IAM (Identity & Access Management) feature/function & enabling platform services
- 4+ years working with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Ansible.
- Advanced strategic capability with cloud delivery models.
- Agile/Lean background for projects and project delivery.
- Deep understanding of advanced security segmentation and controls.
