We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead delivery execution across our Ascend Fraud and PID (Product Identity & Data) Acceleration workstreams based in Hyderabad, India.
This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering leadership role that demands deep technical fluency, proven people-management capability, and the ability to personally contribute to architecture and code when required.
The ideal candidate is someone who operates at the intersection of engineering and leadership - equally comfortable reviewing a pull request, troubleshooting a production incident, mentoring engineers, and presenting delivery status to senior stakeholders.
You will manage 2 engineering teams and be directly accountable for execution quality, on-time delivery, platform reliability, and team growth across 2 strategically significant programmes.
Role and Responsibilities
You will be #LI-hybrid based in Hyderabad and reporting to Director Engineering
Delivery Execution & Accountability: You will Own end-to-end delivery across Ascend Fraud and PID Acceleration workstreams, ensuring predictable outcomes, releases, and alignment to committed roadmaps and business priorities. Personally unblock critical-path items, make technical trade-off decisions, and maintain delivery cadence.
Hands-On Technical Leadership: Remain deeply engaged in technical decisions - participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and code reviews. Evaluate technical approaches, challenge assumptions, and drive sound engineering choices across the team. This is not a purely managerial role technical credibility and active contribution are essential.
Engineering Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead and scale engineering teams, setting clear expectations for quality. Build strong engineering leadership pipelines, develop succession plans, coach emerging leaders, and sustain high talent retention in a competitive market.
Engineering Excellence & Standards: Drive engineering excellence by enforcing secure coding practices, reliability standards, test automation coverage, and operational readiness aligned to fraud, identity, and regulatory requirements. Champion the adoption of new ways of working including Generative AI to accelerate developer productivity and speed of delivery.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Architecture, and Platform teams to translate strategy into executable plans, manage dependencies, and resolve cross-workstream risks early. Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for India-based delivery across these programmes.
Platform Modernisation & Acceleration: Ensure platform modernisation and acceleration goals are met, including migration, performance, resiliency, and reuse initiatives supporting Ascend and PID convergence. Drive cloud-native adoption and ensure operational readiness for all releases.
Execution Visibility & Stakeholder Communication: Provide transparent execution visibility through metrics, risks, and trade-offs. Proactively escalate issues and recommend corrective actions to protect delivery timelines and client outcomes .
