What You'll Do
MRDS team is looking for a Senior Test Engineer to spearhead the manual and test automation engineering activities for software/firmware applications for embedded device like power quality meters. Senior Test Engineer will define detailed test cases, develop test scripts and identify functional and non functional test cases to verify functionality for Software applications in the Meters and Relays Group. Strong work experience in test automation and is necessary for the success of this role. We are looking for motivated professionals with strong experience in software testing and good communication skills who will play a key role in verifying and validating the next-generation technology solutions that change how users connect, explore, and interact with information and devices.

- Develops detailed test cases by understanding requirements and specifications for power quality metering products
- Defines proper test data sets, documents it and validate functional, performance, and load/stress tests
- Identifies and develops automated tests by employing test framework and test methodologies
- Contributes actively to test execution cycles for functional, regression, and system tests
- Report test results and identify test failures in the defect tracking system.
- Collaborate closely with development team and stakeholders for root cause analysis of defects
- Strong verbal, documentation and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Generate ideas and innovative solutions which will provide competitive edge to business products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering in Electronics/Electrical
- 5+ years of experience in Verification & Validation of industrial software applications.
- Experince working on embedded electrical products ,preferably Power Qaulity Meters , Hands-on on Meter testing etc.
- Proven test development experience in test scripting programming languages at least 2+ years
- Proven test automation experience on firmware/web applications on Python selenium.
- Experience in developing detailed test cases from requirements and worked through STLC
- Experience with industrial communication protocols is a must.
- Experience in API testing will be added advantage
Skills
- Expert in manual and automation test deliverables in validations of Electrical products following Agile framework.
- Understands product requirements, follow verification plan, defines functional and non functional test cases for software/firmware applications. Ensures quality by releasing defect free products to field.
- Proficient experience of Source Control software and Code Collaboration tools (Git, SVN, etc.); experience with Issue and ALM software (JIRA, TFS, etc.).
- Experience in Data Driven testing..
- Experience writing/executing integration tests.
- Understanding on various test automation frameworks for testing the web application in embedded space.
- Experience with electrical data simulation tools like Omicron for manual/automation testimg of electricle devices.
- Hands-on with basic Linux commands will be preferrable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,Problem solving skills,Working in ambuiguity, process management.
- Experience working with global teams and driving the projects for high customer satisfaction.
- A high degree of aptitude, creativity, and self-direction is required. Work experience to deliver independently in tight deadlines.
