ABOUT THE ROLE

To undertake Traction Power supply design & engineering activities within the group, in respect of both design and consultancy services. To provide technical support and assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertaking of tasks as assigned, in particular:
  • Design and coordinate traction power projects ranging from business cases through to AFC.
  • Work alongside industry recognised leaders in the field.
  • Support complex jobs assisting clients throughout the entire asset lifecycles.
  • Understanding the client requirements and preparing the tender proposals.
  • Very Good experience in High Voltage and Low Voltage earth grid design.
  • Conduct and/or review technical reports, feasibility studies and option selection reports.
  • Conduct and/or review earthing & bonding and protection studies.
  • Liaise and maintain/develop relationships with clients.
  • Engage in AC/DC traction electrification Design works.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Bachelor of Electrical & Electronics and Power engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Traction Power supply engineering design.
  • Working toward or holding Chartered status (CPEng/NER/RPEQ) is an advantage.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in Traction Power supply and Earthing & Bonding designs.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sydney Trains and/or Transport for NSW project experience preferable.
  • Ability to work autonomously and understand the scope of works.
  • Software Exposure such as CDGES, PSCAD, MATLAB, ETAP, DiaLux, Opentrak and OpenPowerNet.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant IEC/EN/IEEE/ Australian Standards and industry guidelines.
  • Experience in substation designs including Primary & Secondary Engineering.
  • Site exposure on traction electrification works.

BGV:

  • Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (BGV) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
