Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Database & Microsoft Infrastructure Administrator with 6+ years of experience in managing Microsoft-based enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure platform administration, Microsoft Server technologies, Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange, VMware, and automation using PowerShell. This role involves ensuring high availability, security, performance, and scalability of cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Azure & Cloud Administration
Administer and support Microsoft Azure services including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Networking, Backup, and Monitoring
Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, and cost optimization
Implement and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies in Azure
Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
Database Administration (Azure-Focused)
Administer Azure SQL Databases and SQL Server on Azure VMs
Perform database provisioning, upgrades, patching, backup, restore, and performance tuning
Monitor database health, capacity, and security compliance
Troubleshoot database-related issues and ensure optimal performance
Microsoft Server & Identity Management
Administer Windows Server environments including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting
Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), including users, groups, roles, conditional access, and identity governance
Support Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and PKI infrastructure
Implement and maintain certificate services and security best practices
Microsoft Exchange
Administer Microsoft Exchange (Online / Hybrid / On-Prem) environments
Manage mailboxes, mail flow, security policies, and troubleshooting
Support migrations, upgrades, and day-to-day operational tasks
Virtualization & Infrastructure
Administer VMware environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, and datastores
Perform VM provisioning, capacity planning, and performance optimization
Troubleshoot virtualization-related issues and ensure infrastructure stability
Automation & Scripting
Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell
Automate routine administrative tasks, monitoring, and reporting
Improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation
Security & Compliance
Ensure infrastructure complies with organizational security standards and policies
Implement access controls, patch management, and vulnerability remediation
Support audits and compliance requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
6+ years of experience in Microsoft Infrastructure and Azure Administration
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure SQL / SQL Server
Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and PKI
Experience administering Microsoft Exchange environments
Strong VMware administration experience
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and troubleshooting
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, DP-300, or equivalent)
Experience with hybrid cloud environments
Exposure to DevOps, monitoring tools, or infrastructure-as-code is a plus
