The company's core capabilities include precision machining, fabrication, and casting of specialized steel components for industrial applications. The organization operates its own 2-ton casting unit equipped with induction furnace technology, supporting high-quality, in-house production and faster delivery. Role Description The Senior Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The Senior Engineer will oversee the design, development, and manufacturing processes for mechanical components such as conveyor systems, shafts, drums, and other heavy machinery parts. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with design and production teams, monitoring machining, fabrication, and casting operations, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, optimizing processes for efficiency and reliability, and guiding junior engineers and technicians with technical mentorship. The Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure timely delivery of projects and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical engineering foundation, including experience with heavy machinery components, material properties, and manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, and casting).
Proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools (e.g., CAD software, basic FEA or other design validation methods) and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
Experience in production planning, process optimization, and quality control within an industrial or plant environment, preferably related to steel, mining, cement, power, or ports.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, provide mentorship, coordinate with shop-floor staff, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation, reporting, and client interaction.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Relevant industry experience in a similar senior engineering or supervisory role; experience working with induction furnace casting units is an advantage.
Willingness to work on-site at industrial facilities in the Kolkata metropolitan area and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
