Job Description

Job Title - Senior Engineer QA

Division (Weir Minerals)

Location - Bangalore

Onsite

Purpose of Role:

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer ensures the quality and reliability of our products by ensuring processes, and executing tests. This role is crucial for verifying that Weir Mineral products meet business and product requirements, identifying and resolving faults and improving testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization supports and enhances the inspection/test process.
  • Experience in various Rubber Materials and corresponding IS/BS/DIN standards.
  • Carrying out inspection at In-house Vendor Places.
  • Good knowledge of handling various measurement instruments.
  • Preparation of quality reports, maintaining the documents systematically.
  • Analyzing the failures through proper quality tools like CAPA and 8D etc., and putting actions in place.
  • Studying the product requirements and process capability and establishing robust processes.
  • Carrying out First part/article inspection, final inspection - on-time error-free inspection with documentation.
  • Ensuring calibration requirements for all testing inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of testing of Rubber physical properties: Hardness, Resilience, Specific gravity, Tensile strength, Elongation, Abrasion Loss, Compression test, Rheometer test, Adhesion test, and aging properties.
  • Good knowledge of surface preparation and coatings.
  • Good knowledge of conducting process audits at In-process supplier ends with proper actions.
  • Good knowledge of FMEA, Control plan, KAIZEN, POKAYOKE.
  • Good knowledge of ISO standards: QMS, EMS, OHSAS.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • BE in Mechanical Engineering / Polymer Technology / Rubber Plastics Technology
  • 5 to 7 years experience working within Quality Assurance
  • Good rubber knowledge.
  • Knowledge of quality processes and quality analytical tools.
  • Good knowledge of material testing like physical and chemical properties.
