Senior Engineer - Production Engineering

Work you will do

Hydraulic & Mechanical solutions: Understand field machine requirements & provide efficient hydraulic and mechanical solutions to grow aftermarket business with specific timeline. Taking care of injection molding retro fitments/refurbishment. Prepare hydraulic & mechanical 3D parts drawings, layouts, Bill of material, machine specifications, hydraulic schematics, etc.

Collaboration: Serve as single contact person for technical points within engineering team (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, software teams) & intercompany cross functions to integrate aftermarket solutions.

• knowledge of machine structures and parts, hydraulic schematic, operating sequence.
• Purchase support to find out alternate make or solutions against existing system.
• Perform concept development, detailed design, calculations for hydraulics.

Spares/Replacement Solution:

• Find out alternate make of obsolete parts & phased out machine series.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, BOMs, Q-tables, technical specifications, and design documents.

Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Estimating material cost and engineering time for special technical requirements to assist after-market team.

Troubleshooting support:

• Quick technical support to field while machines under breakdown.
• Act as Subject matter expert (SME) for hydraulics.
• Need to assist field engineers in case of trouble shooting.
• Remote support to filed to execute kits in field provided by engineering team.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex field issues, quality concerns, and performance gaps.
• After market Analysis: Study the aftermarket trend data and new features developed by engineering team to offer field machines solutions for business growth.
• Compliance: Ensure all applicable design standards & practices. ISO, ANSI, CE, NR12 safety standards knowledge will be added advantage.
• Standardization & Continuous Improvement: Drive activities for machine modules, components, and design practices.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, weight optimization, and manufacturability improvement
• Maintain design documentation and change management records.
  
  

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent. ME/MTech in similar stream is highly preferrable.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in design of plastic processing machines/Machine tools/capital equipment or in the field of aftermarket technical support.
• Strong knowledge of machine functions, sequence and static/dynamic behavior
• Proficiency with engineering tools (CAD software like Pro-E/Creo/AutoCAD; ERP system)
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with CFT members.
• Proficiency in creating business presentations, MS excel & other soft tools required to perform job.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Abilities in project management
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

• Ability to work independently and take technical ownership.
• Clear communication skills for technical discussions with cross-functional teams.
• Mentoring junior engineers on Injection molding Design processes
