About SunStripe SunStripe is a technical advisory firm delivering integrated solutions across hybrid renewable energy and battery storage assets. Our services span the full project lifecycle from development strategy and engineering through to power market operations. We are expanding our existing advisory practice across the United States and United Kingdom, working with developers, investors, and asset owners navigating complex grid and market environments.

Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Engineer with substantive experience in power systems engineering and grid integration to join our growing team in Hyderabad. This is a role requiring deep technical competence in transmission and distribution analysis, protection coordination, and regulatory compliance, combined with commercial awareness. The successful candidate will lead grid interconnection assessments, power system studies, and electrical infrastructure advisory for utility-scale renewable and storage projects interfacing with US and UK networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive power system studies including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, voltage stability, and harmonic analysis for grid-connected generation and storage assets
  • Perform protection coordination studies, relay settings validation, and arc flash hazard assessments
  • Lead grid interconnection applications and compliance assessments across NERC, IEEE, FERC (US) and GB Grid Code, ECC (UK) regulatory frameworks
  • Prepare technical submissions and manage approval processes with transmission and distribution system operators ( ERCOT, PJM, MISO, CAISO, NYISO in US; NESO in UK)
  • Develop dynamic models (PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT) for renewable generation and battery storage facilities to support interconnection and performance studies
  • Conduct technical due diligence on electrical infrastructure, substation design, and grid connection agreements for project financing and M&A transactions
  • Engage directly with clients, utilities, and grid operators to resolve technical constraints and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving grid codes, interconnection standards, and transmission planning requirements across US and UK markets

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialisation
  • 510 years of hands-on experience in power system studies, grid interconnection, or utility engineering within consultancy, IPP development, transmission planning, or technical advisory environments
  • Demonstrable proficiency in power systems software: PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, or equivalent platforms
  • Working knowledge of US grid codes and standards (NERC, FERC Order 2023, IEEE 1547, utility-specific interconnection requirements) or UK grid codes (GB Grid Code, Distribution Code, G99/G100, Engineering Recommendation P28)
  • Experience with renewable generation and/or battery storage interconnection studies, including inverter-based resource modelling, fault ride-through analysis, and grid-forming capabilities
  • Familiarity with electrical design principles for HV/MV substations, collector systems, and protection schemes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technically rigorous reports for utilities, regulators, lenders, and investment entities
  • High degree of professional independence and accountability in managing complex study work streams.

Application Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV along with a brief description of a complex power system study or grid interconnection project they have led or contributed to, including technical challenges addressed, to [Confidential Information].
