Senior Engineer – HVAC & BMS

To plan, supervise, and control HVAC and BMS operations and to perform operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC & air-conditioning systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, ensuring GMP-compliant environmental conditions, system reliability, and energy-efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. BMS Operation & Monitoring

* Operate and monitor HVAC systems through BMS (AHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems).

* Maintain temperature, humidity, and pressure differentials as per pharma GMP requirements

* Acknowledge and respond to BMS alarms promptly and take corrective actions.

* Monitor trends, logs, and system performance through BMS.

* Coordinate with the engineering team for BMS-related issues and modifications.

* Record and maintain temperature, RH, and differential pressure logs.

* Assist during internal and external audits.

2. HVAC & A/C Operation and Maintenance

* Operate, inspect, and maintain:

* AHUs, FCUs, and cleanroom HVAC systems

* Perform preventive maintenance as per schedule.

* Attend breakdowns and restore systems with minimal downtime.

* Check and maintain filters, motors, dampers, and actuators.

* Ensure HVAC parameters meet GMP requirements.

* Maintain pressure cascade between clean and non-clean areas.

4. Utilities & Equipment Coordination

* Coordinate with utility operators (chillers, cooling towers, compressors).

* Ensure proper interlocks and sequencing through BMS.

* Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for HVAC and BMS systems.

5. Documentation & Reporting

* Maintain BMS logs, alarm reports, and trend records.

* Update SOPs, checklists, and maintenance records.

* Prepare daily shift reports and handover notes.

-Qualifications:

* B.E (or) B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

Experience:

* 5-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, cleanroom, / regulated industry

* Hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance and BMS operation

* Exposure to BMS platforms like Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider, Delta

Key Skills & Competencies:

* Strong knowledge of pharma HVAC & cleanroom concepts

* Hands-on troubleshooting skills for A/C systems

* BMS alarm handling and trend analysis

* Understanding of GMP documentation and audits
