Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Engineer Mechanical Design (Cutting Systems) to work on the design and development of advanced plasma cutting systems and components. The role involves working on multi-physics simulations, plasma cutting technologies, and mechanical system design while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to develop high-performance cutting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development
- Design and develop plasma cutting torches, components, and consumables for next-generation plasma cutting systems.
- Improve existing plasma systems and subsystems for cutting machines and processes.
Plasma Physics Multi-Physics Analysis
- Apply strong understanding of plasma cutting processes involving electromagnetics, plasma generation, plasmasurface interactions, phase change processes, interfacial phenomena, material removal, and mass transport .
- Perform numerical verification and validation of plasma systems using multi-physics analysis.
Simulation Modeling
- Develop and simulate coupled physics models including electro-mechanical, electro-thermal, and fluid-structure interaction models .
- Solve and validate models for a wide range of structural and fluid property variations through simulations and experiments.
CAD Design Engineering Tools
- Develop engineering designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and ANSYS Multiphysics .
- Create 2D and 3D models, drawings, and design documentation for plasma and oxy-fuel cutting machine components and systems.
Engineering Analysis Optimization
- Perform complex engineering calculations and analyses to ensure optimal system performance and functionality.
- Develop coding models for variable fluid properties and integrate them with computational simulations for plasma system analysis.
Product Support Documentation
- Provide engineering solutions for product-related issues and release technical documents using CAD, PDM, and PLM systems .
- Support product lifecycle management and design improvements.
Collaboration Innovation
- Work closely with manufacturing, electrical engineering, system, and software teams for seamless product integration.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in plasma cutting technology and industry trends.
Testing Lab Responsibility
- Take responsibility for the plasma consumable life test laboratory and ensure proper testing and validation processes.
Education Requirements
- Ph.D. / ME / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or Thermal Systems , with Plasma Physics as a major area or coursework.
Required Skills
- Expertise in plasma cutting technology and multi-physics simulations .
- Strong knowledge of electromagnetics, thermal systems, fluid mechanics, and structural analysis .
- Experience with CAD and simulation tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, ANSYS Multiphysics).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams.
