Job Description:

Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our NCS software solutions team that develops solutions including firmware, drivers, etc. that brings more value to NCS products with a strong customer focus. We are looking for a self-driven, proactive SDET Engineer with good exposure to embedded environment, is willing to work as an individual contributor and to lead a team as required

Responsibilities

• Should be able to program in high level languages like C, C++, Python, etc. to develop test suites to test Embedded Firmware
• Writeclean, maintainable, and scalable test code(not just test scripts) in embedded and hostbased environments.
• Work as an individual contributor and, when required, lead test activities within a project, focusing on white box testing.
• Actively contribute by defining test strategies, coverage, and validation plans.
• Architect, and develop automated test frameworks and test suitesforfunctional, integration, regression, and performance testingof embedded firmware and drivers, predominantly USB products.
• Create and executeunitlevel, systemlevel, API, and endtoend test casesfor the modules being developed.
• Validatenonfunctional requirementssuch as performance, reliability, and robustness across the product life cycle.
• Executenegative and faultinjection testingto verify system behavior under malformed inputs, power interruptions, and unexpected reset conditions.
• Participate inthreat modeling and security design reviews, ensuring test coverage for identified risks and misuse cases.
• Supportvulnerability management workflows, including CVE analysis, impact assessment, mitigation validation, and retesting.
• Ensuresecurity requirements traceabilityfrom specifications to test cases and validation evidence, supporting regulatory and customer audits.
• Integrate automated tests intoCI/CD pipelinesand continuously improve test execution efficiency and reliability.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree inECE / CSE / EEE.
• Strong programming skills inC, C++,C# / Python
• Handson experience with8bit, and/or 32bit microcontrollers.
• Experience working with peripheral interfaces such asUSB, PCIe, SPI, I²C, UART, etc.
• Experience indebugging, logging, and defect tracking tools
• Proficiency in usinglogic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other embedded validation tools.
• Ability to collaborate closely withdevelopers, Architects, Product Managers and QAteams across geographies to ensure quality delivery.
• Solid understanding ofsoftware testing fundamentals,SDLC.
• Experience withversion control systemssuch asGit.
• Exposure toCI/CD toolssuch as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to derivetest strategies and design specificationsfrom multiple stakeholder inputs.
• Strongcommunication, analytical, and problemsolving skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders as required.
• Engage in all phases of the product life cycle, includingrequirements gathering, design, implementation, release, and sustenance.

Required Experience: 8 to 12 years

• Selfmotivated, collaborative, and capable of working effectively with crossfunctional global teams.
• Handson experience inAPI testing and automation.
• Exposure toRTOS / Linux / macOSenvironments.
• Experience usingstatic analysis toolssuch asPCLint, Coverity.
• Experience in embedded security andCRAaligned testing, includingsecure boot validation, firmware integrity checks, vulnerability assessment, and compliance support.
• Experience with embedded performance analysis tools such asPercepio Tracealyzer, SEGGER SystemView, iPerf, protocol analyzers, and RTOS profiling utilities.
• Exposure tosecurity testing, test data management, and test infrastructure optimization.
