Job Description

Senior hands-on technical contributor who owns major power-electronics subsystems and guides architecture, design, validation, compliance, and industrialization for solar energy storage products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own hardware architecture and requirements for inverter, bidirectional DC-DC, DC-link, auxiliary power, sensing, isolation, gate-drive, and protection subsystems.
  • Lead topology and component trade-offs considering efficiency, power density, cost, reliability, manufacturability, scalability, and compliance.
  • Drive schematic design, PCB reviews, design-margin and worst-case analysis, thermal design, protection coordination, and reliability risk closure.
  • Lead rapid resolution of critical hardware issues during product development and system integration; drive structured RCA, corrective actions, design fixes, and verification of closure across power-stage, EMC, thermal, protection, and field failures.
  • Define hardware verification plans and lead DFMEA, design reviews, DFM/DFA/DFT, certification readiness, pilot builds, and production release.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring while collaborating across systems, controls/firmware, mechanical, validation, quality, compliance, suppliers, and manufacturing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide design reviews.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with grid interacting ESS, grid-forming/grid-following operation, lithium-ion batteries, and BMS integration.
  • Practical leadership of UL/ IEC standards for grid compliance, EMC, safety, surge, reliability, and environmental qualification.

Success in This Role

  • Ownership of subsystem delivery and timely closure of critical hardware issues and technical risks through robust RCA across development and NPI.
  • Achievement of efficiency, thermal, reliability, cost, compliance, and schedule targets, with measurable improvement in team design quality.
  • 10+ years of experience and master's degree or PhD n Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems, or related discipline from a reputed institute (IITs, NITs, IISc, top global universities, or equivalent)..
  • Deep experience delivering grid-tied inverter, ESS, bidirectional DC-DC, PFC, UPS, solar inverter, or similar products from concept to production.
  • Expertise in Si/SiC devices, gate drives, magnetics, DC-link design, sensing, isolation, protection, EMC, thermal management, and reliability.
  • Ability to independently review schematics, high-power PCB layouts, design calculations, test results, and technical risks.
  • Proficiency with LTspice/PSpice, PLECS/PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, and Cadence OrCAD/Allegro or Altium.
