Job Requirements
ROLE SUMMARY / PURPOSE
The Mechanical Engineer for Design of Steel structures using STAAD pro will work on design and development of Heavy-duty Gas Turbine (GT) Accessories systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design of Steel structures using STAAD pro.
- Calculation of loads and load cases based on various Country Building codes.
- Design of Bolted joints and welded joints based on AISC Steel manual as well as other country design manuals.
- Hand calculations for structural designs.
- Co-ordinate with Designer for successful completion of drawings.
- Product Life cycle Management exposure.
- Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies and systems engineering.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Document design work clearly and meticulously.
- HRSG Domain knowledge is added advantage.
Qualifications/Requirements
Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical / Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in steam/gas/nuclear power plant
- Minimum 5+ Years of experience in STAAD pro.
- Basic knowledge on Power plant components and its functioning.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work with Cross Functional teams.
- Good Communication Skills

- Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines.
Required Skills (Technical Competency)
- STAAD Pro
- Steel Connection design (Bolted/Welded).
- Proficient in American and European Code
- PLM Tools (Enovia / Teamcenter) knowledge is added advantage
- MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
