- Design and engineering efforts for assigned NPD, VAVE, LCE projects
- Sizing, design and validation efforts of major component/subsystem/system for positive displacement pumps
- Perform Mechanical design calculations and basic structural analysis using FEA tools
- Apply methods such as DFMEA; Root Cause Analysis; DFMA during design cycle
- Conduct Concept/Design reviews with cross functional team with support and mentoring from Tech Leads.
- Ensure project milestones and deliverables with agreed Quality, Delivery, Project cost and Product cost for all phases of project
- Identify project related risks and work out mitigation plans
- Actively contribute to innovation and prototype development/POCs
- Collaborate with peers from different teams and apply best practices to drive project for completion
- Manage project responsibilities with good project management skills.
- Coach/Mentor lesser experienced engineers/GETs/PGETs/Interns on products and processes
Mandatory Skills
- Strong in Engineering basics and Manufacturing principles
- Strong in product design fundamentals at both a component and a system level.
- Proficiency in engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), tolerance stack-ups.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, die casting, investment casting and stamping.
- Knowledge of materials, heat treatments, and coatings.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and to make timely decisions with sound judgement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all roles and all levels within the organization.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, to take direction, and to direct the work of others.
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Proactive, self-motivating with ability to develop own priorities
- Ownership mindset, one who can lead the project and work with cross function team to maintain project goal on specified time
- Conversant with Microsoft tools - Word; Excel; PPT; MSP
Desired skills:
- Prior experience with Wind-chill PLM software is desirable.
- Prior experience with Positive displacement pump is desirable.
Qualification and experience:
- 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
- 6+ years of working experience in Design and development preferably in the pump industry
- Competent with 3D, 2D parametric CAD using Creo or Solidworks
- Proven success leading projects
