Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as an individual contributor with significant responsibilities as a Manufacturing engineer in Development Engineering team
  • Work with 1 or more contract manufacturing partners to develop manufacturing processes for new products to meet QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) requirements
  • Work with R&D team and supplier in terms DFX activities
  • Standardizing and improving the manufacturing processes of existing products to optimize the cost and to improve Quality. 
  • Identification and/or assessment of potential supplier to meet River Quality standards 
  • Strong knowledge and experience in proprietary parts development from scratch. Ex: Lamps, Switches, harnesses, Motor and controllers  
  • Review design documents like SOR/PRD, Simulation reports, BOM, drawing and work with R&D team for any Gaps and corrections 
  • Work with suppliers in RCA and trouble shooting of process issues
  • PPAP documentation and closure of NC's 
  • Preparation of documentation like WI/SOP, AICTQ and  SORs 
  • Act as a bridge between internal R&D team and external supplier in resolving the queries with necessary corrections as needed 

Ideal Candidate:

  • BE in Electronics with 8-10 years experience in any ODM/OEM with exposure on Lamps, switches, harness, motor and controllers part development activities ( minimum 3 areas)
  • Strong hold on manufacturing processes of lamps, switches, harnesses,  motors and controllers.
  • Hands-on experience in reviewing concept proposals, simulation reports and design documents.
  • Sound knowledge in DFX processes. 
  • Good knowledge in PPAP processes and documentation
  • Hands on experience in supplier selection, assessment and management. 
  • Strong experience in RCA and troubleshooting of process related issues
  • Knowledge of Hardware product development processes i,e PLM. 
  • Good knowledge in 8D/CAPA processes 
  • Hands on experience in Change management processes 
  • Good experience in preparation and reports and presentation skills. 
  • Knowledge of Proprietary parts EOL test requirement 
  • Experience of varied manufacturing processes across automotive Lighting / Switches/ Motor/ Controllers / Electrical / Electronic, Polymer / Plastic products (PCB Assembly, Injection Moulding, Casting, Box build assembly)
