Your impact

The role focuses on preparing, reviewing, and validating TIC (Total Investment Cost) estimates across all project stages while controlling, tracking, and forecasting project costs. It involves developing multidisciplinary conceptual and detailed estimates, performing benchmarking and rate analysis, documenting assumptions, and supporting valueengineering efforts. The position requires managing cost baselines, cash flows, change orders, and budget performance while coordinating closely with project teams and subject matter experts. Responsibilities include mentoring cost engineers, maintaining historical cost databases, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and presenting clear cost insights to stakeholders. Candidates with 1218 years of experience in TIC estimation and cost control for industrial, data center, EV, and EPCm/PMC projectspreferably in a lead rolealong with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel/Power BI, are ideal.

  • The Primary role/function of the position of TIC cost Estimation and Cost Controller is to prepare and/or review and endorse cost estimates of different levels of accuracy depending on the maturity of the project definition during the various stages of the project lifecycle. The role involves developing multi-disciplinary conceptual and definitive cost estimates for a variety of projects. As a cost controller needs to track, analyze, and control the costs associated with a project.
  • Develop and implement TIC Cost Estimate plan to support contract requirements
  • Discuss, coordinate, and resolve estimating input/queries with project team and subject matter experts available in the organization to ensure quality estimate.
  • Ensure all assumptions / clarifications are properly documented.
  • Responsible to create data bank from previous project which had already been completed.
  • Perform complete analysis and cost validations using internal and external benchmarking data, historical indices, and component benchmarking.
  • Participate & provide cost information on value engineering analysis.
  • Mentor & supports the review of the estimates prepared by other cost engineers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with scope of work.
  • Capable of doing rate analysis for the cost per unit of work in construction items.
  • Analyze cost impact based on RFIs/Change Orders and maintain change order log.
  • Familiar with all the contract requirements for the construction project.
  • Establish budget & Cost Baseline and periodically forecasting the project TIC cost.
  • Prepare and monitor periodically Cashflow of project life cycle.
  • Monitor and control budgetary spending and billings as well as assist with the development of capital project budgets and forecasts.
  • Review and analyze the cost and schedule for the project based on the estimated budget.
  • Must be a self-starter, interest in learning the product/platform and perform duties with limited direction.
  • Skilled in extracting information from vendor and internal data for estimating purposes.

Here's what you'll need

  • B.Tech in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Civil Engineering with 12 to 18 years of experience in TIC (Total Investment Cost) estimation and cost control of Projects in the field of Industrial Projects, Data Center, EV, etc. from design engineering consulting organization. At least 5 years of experience on medium size EPCm/PMC industrial Projects as Cost Controller Lead role.
  • Experience in estimating medium size multi-disciplinary scale projects (EPCm or combination).
  • Competent to use intermediate to advanced excel knowledge. Hands on Power BI will be an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to convey recommendations clearly and concisely to project team, internal management, and client.
  • Must be able to travel locally and occasional globally.
