What you'll build

  • Design, develop, and deploy API proxies on the Apigee platform.
  • Implement API policies such as OAuth, JWT, Spike Arrest, Quota, Caching, and Transformation.
  • Optimize API performance and ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Manage and configure Apigee Edge, Apigee X, or Apigee Hybrid environments, including hybrid and on-premises setups.
  • Use Terraform and Chef/Ansible for infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues related to API gateways.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions to customer problems, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and share knowledge with the team to improve processes.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance on Apigee, API best practices, and infrastructure automation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and DevOps engineers, to deliver high-quality API solutions

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with Apigee API Management (Edge, X, or Hybrid).
  • Strong knowledge of API policies (OAuth, JWT, Spike Arrest, Quota, Caching, Transformation), shared flows, KVMs, and fault handling.
  • 5+ years of Java development (RESTful APIs, Spring Boot preferred).
  • 3+ years in DevOps/infrastructure engineering, managing Apigee on-prem, hybrid, or cloud.
  • Expertise in Chef and Ansible, with strong scripting in Shell, Python, or Ruby.
  • Hands-on with Rundeck, Jenkins, Git, and GitOps workflows.
  • Experience with Terraform or Helm, and strong Linux skills.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Familiar with Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk for monitoring.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and ownership mindset
