Hiring a Senior Engineer to own the backend, infrastructure, and technical execution for an enterprise product currently in active build-out. Hands-on senior IC role — designing systems, writing code, reviewing PRs, and driving execution alongside a 4-engineer pod from week one. Product details shared after offer acceptance under NDA.
This is a fully remote role. Since we'll be working with a US-based client, working hours can largely be aligned to US Eastern Time, which means candidates based in India might have to work during the night.
What you'll own:
- Architect, build, and operate enterprise-grade backend systems with strong availability, security, and compliance posture
- Design and execute high-stakes infrastructure projects on systems with live production users — examples include large-scale data migrations, re-platforming, multi-region rollouts, and security/compliance hardening
- Architect and operate large-scale audio data ingestion pipelines pulling from multiple upstream sources (telephony, cloud storage, vendor APIs, real-time streams)
- Own the data layer, message queues, storage tiers, observability, deployment infrastructure, and incident response
- Break down product requirements into technical tasks, coordinate work across the team, and ship on weekly cadences
- Be a key technical voice in the engagement — sprint reviews, architecture decisions, timeline ownership
Required experience:
- Deep, demonstrable experience with enterprise-grade infrastructure, security, and architecture — multi-tenant systems, secrets and access management, audit trails, encryption in transit and at rest, IAM, least-privilege design
- Hands-on track record running high-stakes work on live production systems — migrations, re-platforming, scaling events, or major architectural changes without breaking customers
- Built or operated audio/media ingestion pipelines at meaningful scale
- Working knowledge of AI/ML pipelines — not training models, but understanding how ASR, LLM, and analytics systems wire into production
- Hands-on with: Python or Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis/Kafka, AWS or GCP, Docker/K8s, CI/CD
- Comfortable working closely with a small pod — PR review, technical mentorship, sprint coordination
Bonus:
- Voice / audio infrastructure exposure
- Compliance work (PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR)
- Database migration or re-platforming experience (e.g., SQL Server → PostgreSQL)
- Probation: 2 months. Start date: within 7–14 days of offer. Non-negotiable.
