Senior Engineer to manage and support Additive Manufacturing (AM) print services, specifically for Medical and Academic sectors. The role requires a blend of technical acumen, market awareness, and data-driven insight to effectively manage customer requests, perform competitive analysis, and monitor industry opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Project Execution:
- Respond promptly to daily 3D print enquiries from academic institutions, providing technical feasibility, costing, and lead time.
- Support and coordinate medical print service requests, including validation of print files, material selection, and process suitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Post-Processing) to ensure timely and high-quality job deliveries.
Market Intelligence & Data Mining:
- Systematically mine academic and medical institutions for potential clients, identifying key stakeholders, research areas, and upcoming projects aligned to AM.
- Maintain and update a structured database of leads and opportunities across verticals.
Competitive Intelligence & Benchmarking:
- Monitor competitors activities on LinkedIn, industry publications (e.g., AM magazines), conferences, and technical journals.
- Track new offerings, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns by competing AM service providers.
- Generate regular internal reports highlighting competitive positioning and emerging trends.
Tender & Opportunity Monitoring:
- Conduct continuous scanning of government and private e-procurement portals, tender aggregators, and grant calls relevant to AM in India.
- Maintain a calendar of upcoming AM-related tenders and coordinate with the bid team for timely participation.
Additional Responsibilities (Optional/Must-Have Selection Based on Team Need):
- Conduct on-site customer visits to academic institutions and hospitals when needed.
- Deliver technical workshops or demos for universities and labs adopting AM.
- Assist the marketing team with case study development, webinars, and customer success stories.
Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering disciplines.
- 68 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, AM services, or electromechanical systems.
- Strong exposure to 3D printing workflows, preferably FDM, SLA, or DMLS/SLM technologies.
- Hands-on experience in interacting with academic and/or medical stakeholders is highly preferred.
