Role Overview
Motionmatics is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to lead Linux platform development, BSP engineering, AI integration, and system optimization on custom high-performance hardware platforms. The role involves working closely with hardware, FPGA, and vision teams to build AI-enabled embedded systems for mission-critical imaging applications
Responsibilities
- Lead BSP (Board Support Package) development for custom ARM-based platforms
- Perform Linux board bring-up on new SoC / FPGA-based hardware
- Develop and maintain custom kernel-space device drivers
- Configure, customize, and optimize the Linux kernel
- Develop embedded Linux distributions using Yocto / Buildroot
- Configure and customize bootloaders (U-Boot or equivalent)
- Integrate camera sensors and high-speed interfaces
- Deploy and optimize object detection and AI inference pipelines
- Perform hardware-software co-debugging and system validation
- Optimize system performance, boot time, and resource utilization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical,Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of Embedded Linux development experience
- Strong BSP and kernel-space device driver development
- Deep understanding of Linux kernel architecture
- Experience with Yocto/Buildroot and ARM-based SoCs
- Proficient in C and multithreading (pthreads)
- Strong debugging skills (GDB, JTAG, kernel logs, lab tools)
- Experience with high-speed interfaces (USB, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART)
- Comfortable with Linux user space and systemD services
- Hands-on experience with Yocto (image building & recipe creation)
