Senior Embedded Engineer

Pace Robotics, incubated by SINE IIT Bombay and backed by Pidilite Ventures and IIMA Ventures, is transforming building construction with intelligent, multi-tasking robots. We've launched India's first multi-tasking construction robot in partnership with Sobha Ltd, the most renowned real estate developer across India and the Middle East and have secured pre-order interests from top-tier firms in the region. Our flagship product, Centa Painter, automates paint, putty, and sanding for building interiors. Now, we're scaling deployments to seize global leadership in construction robotics along with development on new robots for additional use cases across construction finishes.

To support our next stage of growth and to take the product to manufacturing at scale ready design along with new feature/technology development, we are looking for an embedded systems lead who will lead design and implementation of the software for embedded devices and systems end to end from requirements gathering to commercial deployment.

What you will do:

• Conceptualize, design, fabricate, integrate and test overall embedded architecture, embedded boards, software and circuitry for Pace Robotics fleet of AMRs.
• Develop embedded code which enables simultaneous exchange of data between various modules and sensors to facilitate fast/robust decision making for the robot and real time controls.
• Design and Implement Communication Protocols, actuation sequencing and deep involvement with embedded software and control strategy.
• Develop and maintain various engineering tools used to debug, analyze, and test embedded products.
• Work as the common link between the hardware, robot autonomy, and software teams, converting inputs from each team along with overall product/customer needs into electronic circuits, software and hardware.
• Selection and integration of all active, passive components, micro-controller, processor w/peripherals and power components.
• Work on improving the efficiency of the power distribution and consumption.
• Work on designing the wiring scheme of the whole autonomous system.

Who you are:

• Masters or Bachelors (with 8-12 yrs exp) in Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics/Embedded Systems with relevant experience in industrial R&D Projects.
• You have the following technical skill sets:
• Expertise with latest Gen Cortex A and M series microcontroller/processors, Nvidia Jetson Orin/Thor/Xavier platforms
• Expertise with C,C++ and python programming with expertise in coding standards such as MISRA etc
• Expertise with digital electronics (BJTs, Mosfets, Amplifiers, OP Amps etc)
• Knowledge of different communication protocols such as I2C,Ethernet(TCP/IP,UDP), EtherCat, CAN etc
• Good Understanding of Electronics Circuits and Schematics
• Expertise with RTOS (FreeRTOS/VxWorks etc)
• Expertise with Linux (Ubuntu and RTLinux) programming concepts
• Deep experience with Signal Processing methods
• Experienced in PCB and wiring harness Design
• Proficient with Matlab, Simulink, DAQ software
• Experience with EMI/EMC compliant design procedures and testing methodologies
• Proficient in developing and maintaining codebase

Good to have:-

• Knowledge of robotics concepts and fundamentals such as Mapping, localization, path planning and perception
• Knowledge of Computer Vision, ML and DL
• Knowledge of control systems
• Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics
• Knowledge of GPU architecture and CUDA programming
• Familiarity with simulation platforms such as ISSAC SIM, GAZEBO, MUJOCO etc
• Strong quantitative and data interpretation skills
• Highly organized and methodical in everything you do
