HEI Technology India Pvt. Ltd. is the Indian subsidiary of HEI Technology International GmbH, operating from ASPIRE IIT Bombay Research Park as our R&D and Innovation Centre.

We are now establishing a new production facility in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (indicatively: Navi Mumbai / Thane District / VasaiVirar region), and are expanding our team across both R&D and production functions. To expand our design and product development capabilities, we are looking for a:

Senior Electronics Design Engineer (m/f/d) Solar (m/f/d)

Full-time Position | ASPIRE IIT Bombay Research Park, Mumbai

YOUR ROLE:

As Senior Electronic Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and certification of cutting-edge control and power electronics for solar street lighting, as well as solar-powered telecom applications and smart city / IoT solutions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Circuit simulation, as well as design, layout, prototyping, and testing of PCBs of control and power electronics
• Collaboration with sofware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software solutions
• Development and optimization communication interfaces (e.g., DALI, RS485, CAN, LoRa, NB-IoT)
• Testing and validating of hei and third-party control electronics
• Integration of IoT devices into the hei ecosystem for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and control
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality components and cost-effective production
• Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in control and power electronics, IoT, and communication technologies
• Product certifications
• Participation in research projects

YOUR QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

• University degree (BSc / MSc) in electrical engineering or similar qualification
• At least 5 years of relevant experience as a senior or lead engineer in the complete electronics hardware design lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, verification and validation, qualification, and compliance testing.
• Proven experience in power electronics and high-efficiency DC/DC converter design for wattages up to 1000 W
• Proficiency in system architecture, schematics, circuit design and PCB layout tools (Pulsonix, Altium Designer, Eagle)
• Proven experience in communication interface design, especially DALI, RS-485, CAN, LoRa, NB-IoT, SPI, I2C
• Experience in battery technology and battery management systems (BMS)
• At least basic knowledge in firmware development
• Knowledge in IoT integration and sensor-based systems
• Familiar with international and national certification processes like BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards)
• Experience in EMI/EMC testing and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience in testing and debugging hardware systems
• A structured and independent way of working and a precise working style
• Team orientation, communications skills
• Very good written and spoken English
• Enthusiasm for innovative, environmental-friendly products
