Based in India, the role will primarily support India while also providing cross-regional support to EMEA, APAC, the Americas, and other regions as required. The role translates complex hyperscale and neocloud/enterprise customer requirements into practical, scalable, resilient, and commercially viable data center electrical solutions, with particular emphasis on high-density compute environments and increasingly complex power distribution architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Director of Central Solutions Engineering for Global Solutions Engineering and serves as a Senior Electrical SME and escalation point for the Global Solutions Engineering organization, with primary support responsibility for India and cross-regional support as required. The role will support Solutions Engineers with technical interpretation, solution development, customer discussions, electrical capacity assessments, and technical risk identification.
  • Lead electrical solutioning for hyperscale, AI/HPC, neocloud, and enterprise opportunities, with strong emphasis on high-density deployments, resilient power architectures, customer fit-outs, and integration into both new and existing data center infrastructure.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of electrical technical response packages for customer requests, RFPs, SOQs, technical clarifications, and design-development activities, ensuring proposed solutions are clearly documented and communicated to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Global Product & Sales Strategy and Space / Capacity Management teams to evaluate electrical capacity, space utilization, future expansion capability, stranded capacity, and infrastructure constraints in support of customer opportunities and portfolio planning.
  • Support NTT Data GDC Legal and Commercial teams in the technical review of customer contracts, leases, MSAs, SLAs, responsibility matrices, technical exhibits, and related agreements to confirm that electrical obligations, performance commitments, demarcations, and customer requirements are technically achievable and aligned with NTT Data GDC standards.
  • Translate customer RFPs, SOQs, CDEs, technical schedules, design criteria, and engineering standards into electrical concepts that align customer requirements with NTT Data GDC standards, available site infrastructure, resiliency objectives, schedule, and commercial requirements.
  • Develop electrical design concepts through approximately 30% schematic design, including single-line diagrams, power distribution concepts, equipment layouts, feeder and busway routing concepts, equipment connection points, system zoning, redundancy strategies, design criteria, protection philosophy, and supporting technical markups.
  • Prepare sufficiently detailed schematic packages and technical scope information for Construction / Preconstruction teams to establish fit-out pricing, identify Non-Recurring Costs (NRC), evaluate long-lead equipment requirements, and assess schedule impacts and delivery risks.
  • Perform or validate engineering calculations and technical analyses including electrical load calculations, power striping calculations, normal and failure-mode load allocation, failover calculations, transformer and UPS loading, generator loading, feeder and busway sizing, voltage drop, available fault current, equipment interrupting ratings, redundancy capacity, and electrical system operating envelopes.
  • Develop and evaluate electrical distribution architectures including 2N, N+1, distributed redundant, catcher, block-redundant, and other hyperscale electrical topologies; evaluate the impact of component failures and maintenance scenarios on available IT capacity.
  • Perform power striping and failover assessments to confirm that IT load can be appropriately distributed across available power trains under normal, maintenance, and failure conditions, and verify that proposed solutions remain within the capacity limits of generators, UPS systems, transformers, switchgear, PDUs/RPPs, busway, and downstream distribution equipment.
  • Develop electrical solutions for high-density and AI/GPU deployments, including evaluation of rack power requirements, diversity, power factor, harmonic loading, transient characteristics, busway and RPP configurations, branch-circuit distribution, and coordination with liquid-cooling and other high-density mechanical systems.
  • Define interfaces between customer electrical systems and base-building infrastructure, including utility and medium-voltage systems, generators, UPS systems, transformers, switchgear, PDUs/RPPs, busway, metering, grounding, controls, remote-trip requirements, power-quality requirements, commissioning, and operational responsibilities.
  • Evaluate fault-current and protection requirements, including available fault current at customer connection points, equipment short-circuit ratings, selective coordination considerations, breaker configurations, and mitigation strategies where customer equipment limitations or standards drive additional requirements.
  • Assess customer electrical requirements related to power quality, grounding, metering, harmonics, voltage and frequency tolerance, power factor, monitoring, protection, and controls, and identify deviations from NTT Data GDC standard designs.
  • Work closely with Mechanical, Controls/BMS, IT, Architectural, Structural, Product, Design Management, Construction, Operations, Commissioning, and Commercial teams to deliver fully integrated, constructible, and operationally supportable solutions.
  • Participate directly in customer workshops, technical deep-dives, RFP clarifications, site visits, design reviews, and executive / technical presentations; communicate complex electrical engineering concepts clearly to both technical and non-discipline audiences.
  • Review vendor proposals, equipment selections, and technical submittals and assist with selection and application of major electrical equipment including transformers, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, RPPs, busway, breakers, metering systems, and associated controls.
  • Develop technical narratives and scope-of-work documentation including intake forms, Basis of Design input, electrical design criteria, assumptions, deviations, exclusions, demarcation points, and other documentation required to transition solutions from Sales / Solutions Engineering into design and construction execution.
  • Identify solution risks, constraints, assumptions, and early design trade-offs; clearly communicate impacts to capacity, resiliency, failure domains, maintainability, constructability, cost, schedule, commissioning, and operational performance.
  • Support development and continuous improvement of global electrical solution standards, templates, reference architectures, calculation tools, design guidelines, and technical guidance for the Solutions Engineering organization.
  • Stay current with hyperscale, neocloud, and AI infrastructure trends.
  • Provide technical knowledge transfer, mentoring, and guidance to regional Solutions Engineers and other engineering team members without direct people-management responsibility.
  • Support projects and customer opportunities primarily across EMEA, while providing additional support to India, APAC, the Americas, and other regions as required; maintain flexibility to participate in meetings across multiple regional business hours when needed.
  • Engage and often lead technical solution discussions with prospects, customers, and partners, either in person or remotely, in coordination with Account Executives and other commercial stakeholders when senior electrical expertise is required.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships throughout the Solutions process by providing credible, responsive, and technically sound engineering support that builds confidence in NTT Data GDC's ability to deliver current and future customer requirements.
