The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver electrical engineering design for assigned projects. You will apply advanced engineering principles to develop highquality electrical deliverables while coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Primary Objective
- Deliver electrical system design for assigned projects, coordinating with other disciplines, clients, and vendors as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Work independently at an advanced level on electrical engineering assignments
- Conduct site visits and data gathering activities
- Prepare load lists, equipment lists, and electrical calculations including voltage drop, equipment sizing, lighting, earthing, and cable sizing
- Develop electrical power distribution concepts, single line diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, and cable schedules
- Perform power system studies and relay coordination using engineering software
- Prepare design basis documents, specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions (RFQs)
- Carry out technical bid evaluations and review vendor documentation
- Coordinate with drafting teams and provide inputs for drawing preparation
- Check drawings for quality, accuracy, and interdisciplinary interface consistency
- Maintain design files, engineering data, and documentation in line with project requirements
- Monitor progress and ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality systems
- Provide technical supervision to electrical designers and draftsmen, where applicable
- Prepare manhour estimates based on tender scope and scope changes
- Ensure compliance with applicable design standards, specifications, and quality assurance procedures
- Follow safe working practices and comply with OH&S requirements
About You
To be considered for this role, you will bring strong technical expertise, independent working capability, and a commitment to quality delivery in complex project environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
- 1218 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design for hydrocarbons, energy, or industrial projects
- Minimum 6+ years of design experience within hydrocarbons or related sectors
- Strong knowledge of national and international standards such as IS, IEC, BS, OISD
- Experience with electrical system analysis software such as ETAP; knowledge of SPEL is an added advantage
Technical & Professional Competencies
- Seniorlevel capability with advanced knowledge and specialized depth across electrical systems, products, and project delivery
- Proven ability to work independently on complex engineering assignments
- Strong coordination and communication skills to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience leading or supporting small project teams, as required
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality, safety, and schedule adherence
