TECHNICAL

Key Competencies / Skills
This role requires expertise in both basic and detailed design for AIS and GIS substations up to 500kV, as well as strong leadership in guiding junior engineers and managing complex projects.
Design and engineer secondary systems for high voltage substations, including protection, control, and automation systems.
Design and preparing relevant technical documents such as, single line diagrams, trip matrix, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, logic diagram, IO list, panel layout, terminal wiring diagram, control and LV cable list, LV calculation, Load list, diesel generator sizing calculation, battery sizing, AC/DC calculation, Telecommunication Block schematic.
Specify and select equipment such as relays, meters, communication devices, and control panels.
Coordinate with primary engineers to ensure the integration of primary and secondary systems.
Perform protection and coordination studies to ensure the reliability and safety of the substation.
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project success.
Strong knowledge of protection and control and Telecommunication systems.
Familiar with at least one of the electrical engineering software such as DIgSILENT, Eplan, ETAP, PSCAD, or similar tools. Proficiency in ELCAD- AUCOPLAN is a big Plus.
Familiarity with relevant standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, and ANSI.
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an international team environment.
