Role Overview

As an Senior Electrical Designer specializing in workspace design, you will be responsible for developing electrical systems and designs that ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of electrical infrastructure within workspace environments. Working closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, you will contribute to the creation of innovative and sustainable workspace solutions that meet client needs and comply with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical System Design

• Design and develop electrical systems for workspace environments, including power distribution, lighting, HVAC controls, and data communication infrastructure.

2. Requirements Analysis

• Analyze client requirements and project specifications to determine electrical system needs, considering factors such as space constraints, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

3. Code Compliance

• Ensure that electrical designs comply with local building codes, safety standards, and regulations, including but not limited to NEC, IEC, and ASHRAE guidelines.

4. Technical Documentation

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for electrical systems, using CAD software and other relevant tools.

5. Material Selection

• Select appropriate electrical components, fixtures, and equipment based on project requirements, performance criteria, and budget considerations.

6. Risk Assessment

• Identify potential risks and hazards related to electrical systems and propose mitigation measures to ensure the safety and reliability of workspace environments.

7. Innovation

• Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical engineering and workspace design, and integrate innovative solutions into projects where applicable.

8. Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with architects, interior designers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into workspace designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Previous experience in electrical design for commercial or office spaces.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient technologies is a plus.
