Electrical Engineer – Electrical Building & Infrastructure Design

About the Role

We are looking for a capable and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our design team. The role involves the design and documentation of electrical infrastructure for residential developments, townships, institutional buildings and other large-scale projects.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and be comfortable taking design work from load calculations through detailed design, BOQ and final documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical load calculations, load schedules and maximum-demand calculations.
• Plan HT/LT electrical distribution networks and determine transformer/substation requirements.
• Design substations, feeder pillars, LT panels and distribution systems.
• Carry out cable sizing, voltage-drop and electrical design calculations.
• Prepare and coordinate HT/LT Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
• Prepare electrical layouts, cable routing and equipment schedules.
• Prepare accurate electrical BOQs and material quantities.
• Review drawings and coordinate electrical services with civil, architectural, structural, landscape and other disciplines.
• Incorporate client/consultant comments and efficiently manage design revisions.
• Check drawings, calculations and BOQs for consistency and accuracy before issue.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, consultants and clients to resolve technical issues.

For Mid-Level Candidates

In addition to the above, the candidate should be able to:

• Independently handle electrical design packages from concept to detailed design.
• Review and guide work prepared by junior engineers.
• Coordinate directly with clients and consultants on technical matters.
• Identify design issues early and propose practical, economical solutions.
• Take ownership of deliverables, quality and project deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 5 - 10 years of relevant design experience.
• Strong knowledge of HT/LT distribution systems.
• Good understanding of transformers, cables, switchgear, feeder pillars and protection systems.
• Experience in load calculations, cable sizing and voltage-drop calculations.
• Ability to prepare and understand electrical SLDs and layouts.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.
• Knowledge of relevant Indian electrical standards/codes.
• Experience in plotted developments, townships, institutional buildings or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
