Role: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer with 5–6 years of experience in Electrical MEP Design Consultancy.

The candidate will be responsible for complete electrical system design, from concept stage to IFC drawings, for residential, commercial, hospitality, institutional, and industrial building projects.

1. POSITION OVERVIEW

• Complete Electrical MEP Design from Concept to IFC Stage

• Electrical system design for Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, Institutional & Industrial Projects

• Detailed Engineering Calculations

• Single Line Diagram (SLD) Preparation

• Cable Tray Design & Routing

• Lighting Layout & Lux Level Calculations

• Electrical BOQ Preparation

• Earthing & Lightning Protection System Design

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Electrical System Design & Engineering

• Preparation of detailed Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for LV Power Distribution Systems

• Design of Low Voltage (LV) Power Distribution Systems – 230V / 400V

• Basic exposure to Medium Voltage (MV) Systems – 11kV / 33kV

• Development of Power Layouts, Lighting Layouts & Small Power Layouts

• Preparation of Lighting Looping Layouts

• Design and Routing of Cable Trays

• Preparation of Consulting & Coordination Drawings

• Development of Panel Schedules, Load Schedules & Cable Schedules

• Preparation of Riser Diagrams & Shaft Coordination Drawings

• Earthing System Design as per IS 3043

• Lightning Protection System (LPS) Design

• Planning of DG, UPS, ATS Panels & Emergency Power Systems

B. Electrical Engineering Calculations & Technical Analysis

• Connected Load & Demand Load Calculations

• Diversity Factor Analysis

• Transformer Sizing & DG Capacity Calculations

• Cable Sizing based on Current Carrying Capacity

• Voltage Drop Calculations

• Short Circuit Level Calculations

• Circuit Breaker & Protection Device Selection

• Power Factor Correction Analysis

• Fault Level Estimation

• Compliance with NBC, IS Codes & IEC Standards

C. Lighting Design & Lux Level Engineering

• Interior Lighting Design – Commercial, Residential & Retail

• Exterior & Landscape Lighting Planning

• Emergency Lighting System Design

• Energy-Efficient Lighting Solutions & LED Optimization

• Understanding of ECBC Requirements

• Basic Knowledge of Green Building Standards – LEED / GRIHA Preferred

• Lux Level Calculations using Dialux / AGi32

D. BOQ Preparation & Documentation

• Quantity Take-Offs from Drawings

• Preparation of Detailed Electrical BOQ

• Itemized Material Quantification

• Technical Specifications for Cables, Panels, Luminaires & Equipment

• Vendor Comparison & Technical Review Support

• Value Engineering Suggestions for Cost Optimization

E. Coordination & Design Management

• Coordination with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting & Architectural Teams

• Participation in BIM Coordination Meetings

• Clash Detection Support in Revit MEP Models

• Client Coordination for Technical Discussions & Clarifications

• Managing Multiple Projects Simultaneously

• Ensuring Timely Submission of Design Deliverables

3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering – Mandatory

Experience

• 5–6 Years of Experience in Electrical MEP Design Consultancy

• Experience in Multiple Building Projects

• Consultancy Background Preferred over Contractor / Site-Only Experience

• AutoCAD – Advanced Level

Electrical Drafting & Layout Development
