The Senior Director R&D, Mobile Surgery, leads the global, multi-disciplinary R&D organization for the Mobile Surgery business within Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGTs), defining technology and product direction while ensuring strong execution, innovation, and organizational performance.

Your role:

  • Define and execute a long-term R&D vision and strategy aligned with business objectives, customer needs, and technology trends.

  • Lead a global, multi-disciplinary R&D organization (Systems, Software, Hardware, V&V) across multiple locations, covering new product introduction (NPI) and lifecycle management (LCM).

  • Enable sustained innovation and competitive advantage in the Mobile Surgery portfolio.

  • Strengthen R&D execution excellence, accelerating time-to-market and product quality.

  • Establish and govern product policies, roadmaps, and platform strategies in close collaboration with Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations.

  • Implement and continuously improve a world-class Product Creation Process, ensuring effective cross-functional representation and end-to-end execution.

  • Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of NPI and LCM projects through strong project governance and resource allocation.

  • Manage departmental budgets, cost control, and operational efficiency.

  • Build, develop, and maintain an effective organizational structure, including talent development, succession planning, and capability growth.

  • Engage with customers and key opinion leaders to anticipate future product needs and inform innovation strategy.

  • Builds scalable platforms and capabilities that support long-term business growth and profitability.

Youu2019re the right fit if you have:

  • 15+ years of experience in medical device R&D and management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams in regulated environments, preferably in image-guided therapy systems or in mobile surgery.

  • Demonstrated experience in new product development, platform strategies, and lifecycle management.

  • Experience driving internal and external partnerships to accelerate innovation.

  • Strategic leadership with strong results orientation and execution focus.

  • Ability to define and translate strategy into actionable roadmaps and operational plans.

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-organizational collaboration skills.

  • Sound business and financial acumen, including budget and cost management.

  • Decisive, data-driven decision-making with the ability to anticipate future challenges.

  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities.

  • Change management and operational excellence mindset.

  • Bacheloru2019s or Masteru2019s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Innovation, or a related discipline.
