SENIOR DIRECTOR, PRODUCT — FinOps & FinOps for AI
The Opportunity
We have a strong product team in India. We are now looking for the right leader to guide them and to fundamentally raise the bar on what great product management produces.
This role is about building a team that delivers outcomes, not just epics. The leader for this role requires both strong product instinctsand strong people leadership.
You will be in the work: sharpening discovery, challenging assumptions, and closing the gap between what ships and what customers need. You will develop the people around you to do the same. And you will bring genuine curiosity about how AI changes the way product teams operate - not as an experiment, but as a better way to build.
You will partner closely with our VP of Product in the US on roadmap and strategy. Your primary focus in the first year will be building up the team - its craft, its customer connection, and its ability to deliver outcomes that matter.
What You Will Own
Outcomes, not epics. Your most important cultural contribution is driving an outcome-based product culture. Every initiative must have a clear problem statement, a defined customer, a measurable success condition, and a reason to believe. Shipping is not the goal. Impact is.
Discovery discipline. You will establish and model rigorous discovery practices, customer interviews, assumption testing, fast invalidation of bad ideas before they consume engineering cycles. You will know the difference between what customers say they want and what will change their behavior, and you will teach that instinct to your team.
The craft standard. You will define what a great requirement looks like in this organization and write them yourself when needed. Tight problem framing, clear acceptance criteria, explicit tradeoffs not lengthy documents nobody reads, but precise thinking made visible.
AI-native ways of working. You will actively explore and introduce AI-assisted approaches to how the team works — faster synthesis of customer research, AI-assisted spec writing, accelerated prototyping, smarter prioritization. You will not wait for best practices to be established elsewhere. You will help establish them here.
The team. Performance management, coaching, development, hiring, and difficult decisions when warranted. Your credibility as a leader will come as much from your own product instincts as from your ability to develop others.
The roadmap in region. Translate strategic direction from the VP into clear and sequenced priorities the team can execute against. Own delivery accountability — not just alignment.
The partnership with the US. With a significant time zone gap, this works only when you operate with strong written communication and sound judgment about when to escalate and when to decide.
