Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in engineering, or 13 years of experience in engineering with an advanced degree.
- Experience with software development and operations for cloud services.
- Experience influencing and negotiating with executives and external partners.
- Experience leading engineering teams in a technology company.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD.
- 20 years of experience in engineering, including experience in leading global sites.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional teams within a highly matrixed and complex global organization.
- Technical knowledge of server compute, storage, networking systems, distributed systems, and data center operations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
About The Job
The Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG) is a product area that includes Storage, Networking, Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), GeoExpansion, and Reliability. Within ISG, GDC is a fully managed product portfolio that brings Google Cloud's infrastructure and services closer to where customer data is being generated and consumed. GDC empowers customers to run Cloud Services in their own (or a partner) data center, or at the edge, alongside enterprise applications to support mission-critical use cases such as Google AI edge inferencing.
As the Senior Director, Engineering and Site Lead for ISG, you will hold a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping the future of ISG in India, while also driving the development of key GDC services. This is a hybrid leadership role. As the Site Lead, you will be responsible for the day to day operations for the Bengaluru office in India. Concurrently, as the Engineering Leader for GDC, you will guide a large technical organization to define and deliver the product roadmap for GDC services and solutions developed in the region. You will be the figurehead for Google Cloud internally and work cross-functionally to ensure an integrated strategy across all functions.

Responsibilities
- Act as the on-the-ground leader, ensuring the Bengaluru office is running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
- Define and execute the engineering outlook and product strategy for the GDC Services and Solutions organization. Lead the development of GDC software products and features, ensuring alignment with customer needs and the broader Google Cloud portfolio.
- Partner with global engineering and product leaders to integrate Google Cloud services into the GDC platform and align with global priorities.
- Understand and shape the GDC AI strategy, ensuring it aligns with Google's overall AI outlook and delivers value to enterprise customers.
- Lead, inspire, and grow a healthy, scalable, and high-performing organization across both operations and engineering functions. Attract, develop, and retain a diverse team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and effectively leading people through change.
