Job Description: The Senior SME Executive owns outcomes for the client engagement not just tasks. This is the most senior, highest-accountability role in the marketing delivery pod, sitting at the intersection of client relationship management and offshore team leadership.
The role leads a cross-functional team of four specialists, manages the client relationship through structured reporting and approvals, and maintains strategic alignment with the company's Capability Manager throughout.
This is a client-facing services role best suited to candidates with senior agency or managed-services leadership experience.

STRATEGY & PROGRAMME OVERSIGHT
- Own the traffic recovery programme plan end-to-end, ensuring all three phases deliver on time and on target.
- Translate the programme strategy into weekly sprint plans with clear task ownership across the team.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early and manage them before they impact delivery.
- Maintain alignment between the company's Capability Manager and the client on scope, progress, and strategic direction.
- Coordinate with the client's paid media partner on programme deliverables, ensuring no gaps between organic and paid workstreams.
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the client stakeholder team.
- Prepare and present structured weekly performance reports covering organic traffic, GSC metrics, MQLs, paid performance, and content output.
- Manage the content and campaign approval process, ensuring turnaround within the 3-business-day SLA.
- Proactively communicate progress, risks, and wins — no surprises in either direction.
- Build trust with the client to support a transition into a Key Account Manager role post-engagement.
SEO / AIO / AEO / GEO OVERSIGHT & QA

- QA all content against E-E-A-T guidelines and Google's Helpful Content principles before client submission.
- Validate AIO and AEO implementations (schema, FAQ structures, AI Overview readiness) for correctness and completeness.
- Monitor GEO progress, ensuring topical authority content clusters and LLM citation strategy stay on track.
- Interpret GSC, GA4, and rank-tracking data to identify what's working and where to accelerate.

- Build and maintain the weekly KPI dashboard covering all primary and supporting programme metrics.
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights for both the client and the internal delivery team.
- Produce phase-end review reports at the conclusion of each programme phase.
- Escalate anomalies (ranking drops, algorithm impacts, paid underperformance) immediately with a recommended response.
- Ensure the engagement closes with documented SOPs, campaign settings, and a handover pack.

- SEO Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of on-page, technical, and off-page SEO sufficient to independently review and QA all team deliverables.
- AI Search Optimisation: Working understanding of AI Overview eligibility signals, schema optimisation, and content structuring for LLM-based search surfaces (AIO/AEO/GEO).
- Analytics: Proficiency in GA4 and Google Search Console, with the ability to build and interpret dashboards independently.
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to direct, motivate, and hold accountable a small specialist team in a remote/offshore setting.
- Client-Facing Communication: Excellent written and verbal English, with experience presenting directly to US-based client stakeholders.

Specific skills if any
- Structured thinker able to manage a complex, multi-workstream programme without losing sight of the overall goal.

- High client-facing EQ: able to manage expectations, deliver difficult updates, and maintain trust through performance and transparency.
