As part of our fast-growing India engineering team, you will help shape and scale the DevOps backbone that powers products deployed globally across education, healthcare, enterprise, and government environments.

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in cloud-native architecture, automation, SaaS delivery, and reliability engineering, with the autonomy to influence platform direction and technical standards.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior or Staff DevOps Engineer who can drive cloud architecture, automate delivery pipelines, strengthen reliability, and build scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure for our upcoming platforms.

You will work across backend, frontend, data, and firmware teams, leading the design of modern DevOps practices, supporting critical business initiatives, and mentoring engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture and Platform Engineering

1- Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable and cost-optimized cloud architectures (AWS preferred).

2- Partner with developers, data scientists and business teams to shape environment strategy and cloud adoption.

3- Conduct proof of concepts and technical evaluations to validate proposed architecture choices.

4- Continuously explore new cloud technologies and guide organizational adoption.

Infrastructure as Code and Automation

1- Build and maintain IaC using Terraform, Helm, Ansible or similar tools.

2- Standardize provisioning workflows and ensure consistency across development, QA, staging and production environments.

3- Automate environment creation, teardown and configuration management.

CI/CD and Software Delivery

1- Own CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).

2- Implement secure, reliable and repeatable build and release processes across services and firmware.

3- Add automation for linting, static analysis, dependency scanning and compliance checks.

4- Design strategies for blue/green deployments, canary releases and automated rollbacks.

Containers and Orchestration

1- Design and manage container-based architectures using Docker and Kubernetes or EKS.

2- Optimize container lifecycle, image hygiene, registry management and deployment workflows.

Observability, Monitoring and Reliability

1- Implement monitoring, logging and tracing tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or EFK, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry).

2- Define SLIs and SLOs and build proactive alerting and automated diagnostic workflows.

3- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem processes.

Security and Governance

1- Drive security-first initiatives across infrastructure and pipelines.

2- Implement secrets management (Vault or AWS SSM), IAM hardening and network security controls.

3- Support compliance-oriented practices and security reviews.

OTA and Build or Release Systems

1- Contribute to frameworks supporting over-the-air (OTA) updates for device fleets.

2- Support embedded build or release systems where cloud and firmware intersect.

Technical Leadership and Mentorship

1- Mentor DevOps, SRE and development teams on best practices.

2- Collaborate with engineering, support, sales and marketing teams to clarify platform capabilities.

3- Elevate engineering standards by driving documentation, automation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

A. Core Requirements (Must-Have Competencies)

1- 8+ years in DevOps or SRE roles owning production cloud systems.

2- Strong experience in cloud architecture (AWS preferred).

3- Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes or EKS).

4- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, etc.).

5- Strong CI/CD pipeline engineering experience. Solid grounding in Linux, networking, security, and distributed systems.

6- Hands-on scripting experience with Bash and/or Python.

7- Experience designing or operating SaaS architectures.

B. Technical Depth Areas (Experience in several of these)

1- Cloud Architecture and Operations: VPC design, IAM, routing, load balancing, autoscaling, and cost optimization.

2-Automation and Delivery: Build workflows, pipeline templates, and deployment strategies.

3- Observability and Reliability: Metrics, logs, tracing, SLIs and SLOs, dashboards, and alerting.

4- Security Engineering: Secrets management, image scanning, IAM hardening, and security standards.

5- Data or ML Workloads (Preferred): Experience supporting analytics pipelines or large datasets in the cloud.

6- OTA or Embedded Delivery (Bonus): Understanding of OTA mechanisms, firmware build or release processes.

C. Bonus Qualifications (Nice-to-have)

1- IoT or device management experience (MQTT, provisioning pipelines).

2- Exposure to Yocto, embedded Linux, or build systems for firmware.

3- Experience with supply chain security (SLSA, SBOM generation).

4- Prior experience building internal developer tooling or DevOps frameworks.

5- Leadership or mentoring experience in DevOps or Platform teams.
