Your key responsibilities

• As the Senior DevOps Engineer for the new Channel Fraud Monitoring squad, you will be the foundational pillar for the platform's reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure, automation, and observability required for a mission-critical system that protects the Corporate Bank's online channels from real-time fraud. You are expected to be a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native technologies, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure the platform meets its demanding non-functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage the core infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles (e.g., Terraform).
• Develop and maintain robust, automated CI/CD pipelines for the Fraud Monitoring Platform's microservices, enabling safe, frequent, and reliable deployments.
• Implement a comprehensive observability strategy, including distributed tracing, structured logging, and actionable metrics/alerting to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.
• Partner closely with the Lead Engineer and developers to bake reliability and security into the application architecture and development lifecycle.
• Manage the provisioning, configuration, and security of platform components, including Kubernetes clusters, Kafka topics, PostgreSQL databases, and Redis caches.
• Automate operational processes, create runbooks, and lead performance and load testing efforts to ensure the system is resilient and can handle peak traffic.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert for infrastructure, security, and reliability, driving best practices within the squad, tribe, and collaborating with the bank's central SRE and security teams.

Your skills and experience

• Proven, hands-on experience designing, building, and managing secure, scalable infrastructure on a major public cloud platform (GCP strongly preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable).
• Expert-level knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
• Deep expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Strong practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, with a preference for Terraform.
• Proficiency with observability tools and establishing a robust monitoring stack (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry).
• Solid scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).
• Experience managing and operating distributed systems, including messaging queues (Kafka), relational databases (PostgreSQL), and caches (Redis).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, and IAM.
• Experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role, with a focus on SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and reducing operational toil is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the Java/Spring Boot ecosystem from a deployment and operational perspective.
