Summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer has an elevated role in bridging the gap between development and the networking areas of focus; main areas of focus are around low-level infrastructure and monitoring of all company services. This role is responsible for ownership of the build and deployment pipelines of our products, taking the lead in advising in the product and application development as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Partner with engineering, security, and data teams to design and operate a secure, scalable AWS platform with strong reliability and operational standards.
• Own the AWS infrastructure and networking foundation: VPC design, subnets, route tables, NAT/IGW, security groups/NACLs, VPC endpoints, Transit Gateway, DNS (Route 53), load balancing (ALB/NLB), and connectivity patterns across environments.
• Leadcontainer platform delivery in ECS/Fargate: service design, task definitions, deployment strategies, service discovery, scaling, health checks, capacity planning, and runtime troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code as the default operating model using Terraform and Ansible, establishing reusable modules, standards, and guardrails.
• Drive automation across the SDLC and operations: environment provisioning, golden patterns, self-service enablement, operational runbooks, and incident response tooling.
• Support and optimize CI/CD: ensure pipelines integrate cleanly with IaC + ECS deployments, while partnering with the pipeline engineer for platform-wide consistency.
• Own production troubleshooting for platform/infrastructure issues, including networking, scaling, authentication/authorization, deployments, and AWS service integrations; prevent recurrence through automation and standards.
• Lead cost optimization in AWS: tagging standards, right-sizing, Savings Plans/Reserved Instances guidance, storage lifecycle policies, and cost visibility per environment/service.
• Serve as a senior technical resource and mentor: help onboard engineers, review designs and PRs, and partner with management on planning and interviewing.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or related field and minimum 5 years experience in at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, application development, or operations. Relevant experience can be considered in lieu of level of degree.
