Overview Of The Role
As a Senior Development Engineer – Database Technologies, you will play a critical hands-on role in the design, development, optimization, and governance of data stores using MongoDB and/or RDBMS technologies such as SQL Server/PostgreSQL/Oracle/MySQL. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle while ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability of database systems.
This role requires deep expertise in database architecture, performance tuning, and operational excellence. You will take ownership of database design decisions, guide teams on best practices, and ensure robust implementation of data models and database solutions aligned with business needs.
You will collaborate closely with multiple teams, participate in architectural discussions, and provide technical solutions in database technologies while also being capable of working independently. Strong technical depth, ownership mindset, and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply data modelling techniques to ensure development and implementation meet integration and performance expectations.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct database issues in real time, providing end-to-end resolution.
- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support application and reporting needs.Server-side programming using PL/pgSQL, T-SQL, or PL/SQL depending on the platform. Working on advanced concepts of DB Engines like triggers, schedulers, partitioning, Mviews, auditing, versioning, data load etc.
- Working on Mongodb for basic read/write/aggregate operations.
- Performance tuning of slow performing DB processes.
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience as Database developer, with a deep understanding of atleast one RDBMS Technology like PostgreSQL, SQL Server,Oracle and/or MySQL.
- Strong SQL proficiency including complex queries, stored procedures & functions in one RDBMS platform (PostgreSQL/SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL)
- Skilled in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO).
- Working knowledge in MongoDB or any other No-SQL Database.
- Work in an agile development environment.
- Good communication skills and possess strong problem-solving skills.
