Senior Developer, Corporate Systems, Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB)

Job Description

Job Purpose

The Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB) Corporate Systems Senior Developer will be responsible for the end-to-end administration, deployment, and development of the ORMB application built on the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF). This role combines hands-on system administration — including fresh installations, environment provisioning, patch management, and release deployments — with Java-based development of enhancements, integrations, and batch processing solutions.

Working under the direction of the Technical Manager, this role requires frequent collaboration with functional business analysts, infrastructure/DBA teams, third-party vendors, and end users to ensure high availability, compliance, and continuous delivery of a quality finance/corporate systems application. The ideal candidate brings both deep administrative experience with ORMB/OUAF environments and strong Java development skills in large-volume financial systems.

Responsibilities

System Administration & Environment Management

• Plan, execute, and document fresh installations of ORMB/OUAF across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments on Linux/Unix servers
• Configure WebLogic application server, Oracle database connections, batch frameworks, and OUAF environment properties (ENVIRON.INI, SPLEBASE).
• Manage multi-environment topology including environment cloning, refresh, and rollback procedures.
• Apply Oracle-released CPU patches, SPU patches, and product fix packs to ORMB/OUAF environments following change management procedures.
• Coordinate patch testing in lower environments before promoting to Production; maintain patch inventory and compliance registers.
• Use Oracle OPatch / OUAF patch utilities (e.g., FW patch scripts) and validate post-patch environment integrity.
• Execute and oversee application deployments and release promotions across all environments using OUAF deployment utilities.
• Manage Configuration Migration (CM) packages, migration plans, and controlled rollouts via the OUAF Migration Assistant.
• Coordinate with DBAs for schema scripts, data migrations, and post-deployment validation.
• Monitor application health, JVM performance, batch throughput, and WebLogic thread pools; tune configurations to meet SLA targets.
• Maintain and update installation guides, runbooks, patch procedures, and environment-specific configuration documentation.
  

Development & Enhancements

• Design and develop custom ORMB components — algorithms, service scripts, BPA scripts, business objects, business services, and portal zones — using Java and the OUAF framework.
• Build and maintain third-party integrations (e.g., tax engines, payment gateways, e-invoicing, ticketing systems) using REST/SOAP APIs and batch file-based patterns.
• Develop and optimize batch programs for high-volume billing and financial transaction processing, including performance profiling and JVM-level tuning.
• Collaborate with functional analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deliver enhancements aligned with business capabilities.
  
  

Production Support & Operations

• Provide Tier 2/3 production support for ORMB including incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of batch failures, data anomalies, and integration errors.
• Run and schedule production batch jobs; maintain and modify interfaces, reports (BI Publisher), and scheduled tasks.
• Perform year-end processing support, system upgrades, and general technical modifications with minimal business disruption.
• Liaise with Oracle Support (SR management), infrastructure, and DBA teams to resolve platform-level issues.
  
  

Collaboration & Governance

• Work with external vendors and internal teams to evaluate system changes; participate in design reviews, propose solutions, and document outcomes.
• Ensure all deployments and patches comply with change management, security, and audit policies.
• Support the ORMB V8 upgrade and other strategic migration initiatives, contributing to parallel-run testing and validation activities.
  
  

Knowledge And Experience

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Systems required.
• 5+ years of experience with Oracle ORMB or CC&B, including hands-on administration of OUAF-based environments (installations, patching, deployments).
• 5+ years of strong Java development skills with demonstrated ability to build and extend OUAF/ORMB framework components.
• Experience installing and patching ORMB/OUAF on Linux/Unix servers; familiarity with WebLogic administration and JVM tuning.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database / SQL; ability to write and optimize queries against ORMB billing schema.
• Experience managing OUAF Configuration Migration (CM) packages and multi-environment promotion workflows.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a high-profile environment while maintaining high attention to detail and quality.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical peers, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  
  

Preferred Knowledge And Experience

• Familiarity with Oracle patch delivery mechanisms (My Oracle Support, OPatch) and WebLogic patching procedures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines or scripted deployment automation for Java/OUAF applications.
• BI Publisher and/or Tableau experience is a plus.
• Financial industry experience with finance and/or accounting knowledge is beneficial.
• Experience with ORMB V8 (v8.x) and knowledge of differences from legacy CC&B / ORMB v2.x.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or Jira integrations in enterprise environments.
• Ability to liaise with and build effective relationships with global teams across time zones.
